    Settings for Bad Ground Conditions

[b][size=large]Hi Rob, With the rain we had yesterday and last night everything has changed, I can see and hear the quarter on both the DFX & V3i with the 6x10 and 10DD coil. Since my warranty will run out in the spring on my V3i I

    Settings for Bad Ground Conditions

[b][size=large][color=#00FFFF]Rob, I neglected to give you all the information regarding the buried quarter that I was using for testing. The silver quarter that I was using in my testing has only been in the ground for 4 months. I apologize for not giving you all the information. According to...

    Settings for Bad Ground Conditions

Ron, I'll try to answer your questions: 1. Does your coil test OK? Yes, my 4x6, 6x10 and 10 inch. The 6x10 and 10 inch went down for the count (different times) and were replaced by White's Service - both are relatively new checks good. 2. Are you sure your detector is OK? Have you...

    Settings for Bad Ground Conditions

[b][size=large]Rob, I have a silver quarter buried exactly 6 inches deep on my side yard. I know there is no metal in this area, just red clay and sod. I take the V3i with the 10 inch D2 coil, which is documented to find coins 10 inches deep, couldn

    Hypothetical V3 V3i question...

Julian Spending the money for the upgrade to V3i - yes, if you are going to keep it, no, if you are going to sell it. You will not get that money back when you sell it. With our bad soil the upgrade will not help all that much.

What kind of ground do you hunt in mostly?

Hi Mickfin Thanks for the recommendation (PI), but I think my next one is going to be a TDI - I got to do some more research, but at present this is the direction that I'm going. I got to find something that will punch thru this crap we call red clay. Have a nice day.

What kind of ground do you hunt in mostly?

Hi Jbow Being from central Georgia, as you know, the soil is horrible. I hunt mostly old homes in a mill town located about 5 miles from my home. The soil here creates a real challenge for my V3i (highly mineralized red clay), I have a silver dime buried at 6 inches in my back yard and no...

Who is getting deep (coins at 8 inches) and how are you doing it?

RacerX, I think you hit the nail on the head SOIL CONDITIONS, could it be that the V3 reacts to mineralized soil more adversely than other White detectors? Yesterday I was hunting (Hi Pro) an old church ball field (1902) with my V3 using a 6X10 V coil and was finding a few current coins and...
