Nokkta Impact

Have to agree, I only use the 4 tone on my 705 the 99 tone is just way to busy for me and I don't like the 50 tone on the CTX either.

The X-Terra 70 and 705 models '99' setting is confusing because it simply means the full '24' notch segments have their own audio tone, progressing up from the lowest Iron setting. There are '24' notch segments and each has its own Tone pitch. It does get a bit too 'busy' for most people, and they like the '2', '3' or '4' Tone options better.

On the Nokta FIRS CoRe they kept it simple. Pick a 2-Tine audio with a low-Iron Tone, or a VCO audio for all non-ferrous targets. Or you can select the 3-Tone mode and just listen for the processed lower Iron Tone, the Mid-Tone, or the High-Tone and recover located targets.

As for the Nokta Impact, I will wait to read the manual and get an Impact in-hand to know instead of trying to guess what the audio tone options will provide.

Yep I know the 705 doesnt have 99 tones but thats what it says on the screen when your going thru to pick out what tone option you want.

The 70 and 705 actually have 28 segments and tones. I use a 70 and have for years but I would like to have a Notka or racer too so my 70 can have a buddy.

And naturally you are correct, there are '28' notch segments. I should have proof-read that post as I typed '24' as I'd been in a discussion about the various non-ferrous segments with a fellow who wanted to rely on notching out unwanted targets. Either way, I explained to him by example that relying on notching is far from accurate in most environments, and the main benefit you might get, if you like it, is a multi-tone response.

Thanks for offering up the correct answer, and jogging my memory. I need to proof read more often before posting.

I know the pics were just of a prototype, but I really hope that with such a big screen, the menu options font isn't so tiny.
P.s. a 4-tone VCO mode option would be simply awesome. I love the sound of the DI2, but I love the tones of DI3, so combining the two and why not add another tone :)

All I want is depth meter on the main screen. Kind of like the AT PRO. When is it going to hit the market ?? "The Impact"

Ronnie

It must be getting close considering it's been almost a year since the first KC leak.... is the release at least slated for 2016?

Will it be waterproof or water resistant ???

I could be wrong but I think I read somewhere it will not be submersible as a whole unit but the coil can be like most detectors.

I guess they didn't account for At pro selling millions ?? I really would like to see them do it. I think they would kill the market.

I believe one day no one will make a detector that is not waterproof. There seem to be R & D and or production issues delaying the release of this detector that we are so excited to see- maybe marketing issues, too. From what we have seen already, this is a company that deserves our patience and trust. If you recall that same AT series had major issues with its early units, fixed them and recovered. It is a much bigger and older/established company that had the ability to eat a loss and come back. Nokta/Makro has a great start, and is showing wisdom and discipline to avoid making the same mistake that would be much more damaging for them.
Get your finances in order, the day will come- I have faith!

If your looking for a waterproof detector like the AT Pro then look at the new Whites machine. Waterproof to 10' coming out this spring. MX sport.

I agree with the pastor. This early into there hobby detector campaign in the states this release has to have all the bugs worked out, I'll say this , Nokta communicates with the users and listens to us, you can't beat that. I just hope the impact will hang with the big boy or whip them,......

Amen! Competition drives excellence- full speed ahead!!!

This is a new company to the US and back in the day all the big companies made a lot of detectors and loads of improvements. So they have the chance to blow the roof of and do this right. The Racer is a great machine that can hunt with any machine and not only keep up but surpass them on some accounts. The impact is what they need to really get things going in the USA and I feel they will really grow and we will see for the next few years some crazy cool detectors coming from them. Have faith and faith the broncos will win today and Manning can retire as one of the best to play the game

Hey Dilek,

Any news on the release date of the Impact? Will it be in 2016? if so, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months etc??? Can you give us something?

Thank you
