Nokkta Impact

Red light is used to preserve night vision. Having an intensity adjustment would solve a brightness issue.

I've night hunted with the Racer, and although I love having the adjusted backlight, even at it's lowest setting, if it's pitch dark (little to no moonlite), it's still too bright. If there's ambient light, or a partial to full moon then it's not an issue. I agree that the red LED backlighting would definitely preserve night vision as the white light at night takes your eyes a bit to readjust to the darkness whereas the red LED does not.

At any rate, I'll definitely be signing up for one of these and with the majority of our sites starting to open up for the fall/winter/spring months, I'd love to beta test one of these :poke:

Very nice looking unit. Ergonomics look great and the internal wiring is a nice touch. +1 with the iron volume and tone break as well. Expand the vdi range in the upper numbers to accommodate better target identification and you have a home run! Oh, don't forget the RED back light for us night hunters. Is there a proposed release date?

No, currently there is no proposed launch date as it is still in development.

YES YES YES..... the backlight on the Racer, while much appreciated, can be simply blinding, even when set at the lowest setting.

IF you used an adjustable RED LED BACKLIGHT it would have much better visability when night hunting!

is a RED backlight better in the water than the current one on the Racer?

are we becoming too picky these days? lol

I think a red light backlight would be beneficial but also have it where the intensity is very minimal on the lowest setting. I also am into astronomy and we use red lighting all the time so as to not destroy our night vision constantly. It simply works but yes, it can be too bright as well.

I tell you, Fe volume; tone breaks just like a Deus; and freq. shifts is a step in the best direction and that shaft that is concealable wiring and if it has the ability to collapse down like the Deus then you will certainly get a lot of that market share I would think that loves the Deus platform. I hate to keep comparing but I loved the Deus but it is a lot of machine for sure to master. I even went to Andy Sabisch's school to learn it and I came away better in some manners but then again learning even more capability a bit further. I like simplicity with some bells and whistles.......don't need the whole enchilada myself.

I can't wait to see this machine! Thanks Nokta!

Please, Please, Please make this Detector weatherproof or waterproof to 3 meters. I am waiting in line to purchase if it is at a minimum weatherproof.

Mike

red back light, after looking at white light and then to the ground to pin point in the dark with a black coil it takes some time to get vision back, fisher nailed it with the red light on the F19 it just works and no stopping time to re set the eyes !

Unfortunately, this model was not designed as a waterproof device.
Hopefully the next one after that.

Thank you very much for your response Dilek. I really appreciate your willingness to share info on this prototype Detector. With the features listed, if it was waterproof to 3 meters I think it would put a serious dent in the sales of the Garrett AT Pro.
If this prototype Nokta Impact Detector is as good in the salt water as the Macro Racer, you should consider making a second model of this Detector that is waterproof to 3 meters for the many shallow water hunters. The second model would of course have a higher price point, but if you consider how many Garrett AT Pro's are sold, you will see there is a big market for this type of Detector.

I can't wait to hear an announcement of the new Nakta Impact AWW (All weather and water) Detector. Ha ha.

Thanks again for your response.
Have a great day, "you deserve it"!!

Mike

I don't hunt underwater so I am one that looks forward to the dry land version here as long as the coil can be submersed I am okay. I do see where you underwater folks would want a submersible unit and I am sure Nokta will follow suit with a version for sure.

Yes, the coils will be submersible.
And yes we will follow suit - whether with a version or a totally new product.

I would like to see a depth readout on the main screen instead of the pinpoint mode.

I reckon I would be happy with whatever they put out as they have proven that there is a lot of thought and input implimented into their equipment -

Put that together with that they take on customers advice and makes changes in a timely manner, I believe you would be hard pressed to find another manufacturer that does this -

Roll on the Impact and whatever else Nokta has up their sleeve

So true in my limited time with this company eSCANZ! I would say for the US version make the depth indication available in inches!!!! We Americans hate cm's!!!

I do wish there would be a way you fine folks at Nokta would patch a program to make the Fors to have that implemented for sure.

But keep up the great work for I love my Fors and hope it will give plenty of great hunts in the future. As for the Impact......can't wait to see that baby roll out onto the market for sure.

Its probably going to be one of the most anticipated releases of a metal detectors in recent times -

Now that we all know what to expect from both of the Turkish Manufacturers thats for sure -

The DI99 audio mode....the F75 has that, and apparently the Dues does as well. On the F75 it's not a particularly pleasant audio mode, very artificial and digital sounding, but if Nokta's able to make it sound more analog like a ML Sovereign or Explorer/Etrac, that would be an amazing feat

The X-Terra 70 has the 99 Tone mode as well. I find it unpleasant to use... "auditory overload". The X-Terra experts say that it helps to determine iron trash from coins if you use it correctly. Drives me nuts! So, I'll just dig a little more trash when using the X-Terra ( which isn't much since getting the CoRe). Hopefully, it will sound different on the Impact.

Always used 4 tone on my X-Terra 70. The 99 tone was good at ID'ing ring pulls without notching them out, but I'm sure I left the odd coin in the ground too!
