I got another one a friend told me about 2 years ago, this guy likes to look for treasure also....I sold him a metal detector 4-5 years ago so we exchange our stories.....This is true from him I have no reason at all to doubt him.....here we go.
His great grandfather had a farm with a good many acres,I believe he was a veteran of the Civil War The guy had an old aunt that was sometimes confused about things but she said that grandad often said he could set on his porch and look at his money. All the family members never listen to her thinking she was just talking......So my friend being a treasure hunter couldn't let it go like the others, His cousin now owns the property ,so he started his search. He knew where the old house stood so he pretended to be setting on the old front porch and looking out over the land....ok there were two fence rows in front thinking about this His G.Grandfather was left handed and had three children......You ready for this are you setting down........ or better yet you got any of them little nitrogrecian pills. He went to the left side pulled up the 3rd fence post and saw the top of a mason jar got it out,Inside were so old gold coins.......hh......Dan

I was told one yesterday...My wife and I are campimg the weekend, talking to my camping neighbor about MD and treasure hunting....When he was in college A good friend of his, home was in Alabama somewhere on the site of a battle field,,,,,,,the guy had all kinds of relics in a large display case, they dove and got things out of the river and all the local folks knew...On any given weekend there could be many people looking and diving for relics......Now he tells me this is funny to him because he took another friend home one weekend and they were in the river looking around feeling along with there feet when his friend felt something reached down and pulled up a complete in tact sabre, not to arouse the attention of thirty relic hunters and swimmers he held it under the water all day long until they could get it out........hh.......Dan

Okay you guys asked for this.
1958 I was in the air force at Williams Air force base in Arizona. we lived in chandler and wasn't to far from the superstition mountains. Did a lot of studying about the Lost Dutchman mine and one week end the wife and I with a another couple decided to see what we could find so we went out to the mountains and the women decided to stay down below but this buddy and I decided to go and see what we could find. We were just about to the top of this one mountain just kind of wondering along and checking here and there for a lead. All of sudden a rough looking old timer with a long Beard and kind of dirty cloths stepped around a big rock and asked us boys what we were doing up here. I went to answer and then I seen he had a pistol and the hole in the end of the barrel looked about as big around as a quarter. We explained that we were just looking around and then he made a suggestion that we find our way back down and stay off his clam. Didn't even know it was his clam any way we made a fast retreat to the bottom and told the women what had happened and decided to leave. I will always wondered if he had found some thing good but will never know.
Roy

Roy looks like he was protecting his finds......it may have been on going or he could have hidden it not trusting anyone.......Maybe a combination of all that.....The thing about something like that,he could have fallen ill or died and no one knew.....Its still there probable got more than one cache,I'm thinking......hh.....Dan
PS some people don't trust anyone or have Children.........or any relatives at all....So making big plans for the future and stashing it back and then death cr illness comes quickly.....Like the pickled silver dollars.....The tavern owner probanly had illegal slot machines that took silver dollars.....people were spending their whole pay checks in there ......he had tons of silver dollars and big plans for the future but the money just keep pouring in.....and there may be more coins.......You just never know what your walking on a few inches down in the ground......But what I'm trying to say here .....Plans don't work out a lot of the times.....Put your trust in God that plan will never fail you. .....good luck........God Bless.

Anyboby else got stories keepem coming..........hh.......Dan

I have heard of people getting shot on those mountains...... Great Story...Roy thanks...

I have a funny story to tell all true I swear LOL... I had my eye on a piece of property that sat along a fairly busy road.. I'm talking dilapidated too. Trees growing up through the front porch area, back end of right side falling down, and crumbling....Weeds about 6' high.. two or three junk cars rusted away in the driveway.(honest)..Well one day I was driving by and saw the front yard area for about 10 feet from road in was graded down ..this was done by the State for a road project to make it wider.. Oh boy..I went home and got the detector. Pulled in the drive, and started to detect...after about 10 minutes and finding only a few coins I hear something in my earphones muffled..HE- HE - HE..I stop and listened and hear it again HE,HE, HE....... I look around and "I swear" standing on the front porch with trees growing up through it, and falling down and all, was a very, very old man in filthy Long Johns saying Hey hey hey..what-cha doin..That's my Yarrrrrrrd.. I could hear clearly with headphones off.......LOL I could not believe what I was seeing, and, or anyone could live in that old house..But there he was in the Flesh, and Filthy Long Johns yelling at me Hahahahaha I just waved got in my car and left..I didn't know what to say...I was dumbfounded to say the least............ I just wanted to go !!!

LOL Elton that is a good one hahaha........ahahaha...........hh.........Dan

 OH that IS a good one Elton!---I'll bet you "didn't let any grass grow" getting to your car.---Speechless you was, huh? :heh:---Just be glad he didn't take those long johns off & come after you to strangle you with them! :yikes: :help:  ------Del
