How come NASA Tom is not reviewing the new fisher detector?

I know but why is everybody so afraid of to tell what they think of a machine. What do you think of the 3Z and the 70 pro? What does NASA Tom think of the coinstrike and the Edge?

All they did on the Edge Old Coin program was accept a few more trash numbers as good-its easy to see in a linear scale as opposed to a notch category.

I prefer the CZ70 pro over the CZ3D as its weather resistant, has a light and like the extra tone., 10 inch depth meter is also nice and is a convential CZ and don't see why they didn't keep the CZ5 if you like analog...
I see where Fisher or Tom is coming from with the two modes and if you hunt extremely old places the two modes could come in handy, but to me its just dig more to find more. Also the convential mode is locked in salt mode which is a minus. In actuality if one accepts relic or the old square tab mode can accomplish the same results to a degree..Perhaps I am from old school as I have used CZ's since the original CZ6 but just my opinion and it takes time to get used to the old mode for extremely old area. Some do very well with the CZ3D but just not my cup of tea.
In any case the two above are both deepseekers and will stand up against any on the market rel depth.
Coinstrike has a nice digital display seems to be bothered by outside interference at times, has a learning period and just isn't as deep as a CZ...
Keep in mind all units have plus and minus features and many do well with either of the bove.
As far as the Edge don't know beans about it...
Any specific feature just E-mail me and will give it my best shot.Again am not a Fisher Employee or Shill and just an old ground pounder who call its like he sees it...

yes, that's true.....the manual & field test was supposed to warn that yes some things like tabs may slip in. The intent of this preset was to capture old coins like nickles & indian heads. It's sorta specialized like the 3D. Basically in a newer site I wouldn't use old coin. It's just one option, there's far nmore that the Edge offers..

But I don't think folks is afriad at all.....The Edge just came out, & it's the middle of winter. Many of us are frozen in & can't report about the Edge. I've done a whole field test, & posted alotta finds so I've done my part. Andy Sabitch did a test in Lost Treasure too, if mine is not acceptable. Others have begun giving positive reviews on different forums, you just have to keep looking. MR. Bill, gatehider, Vlad, Brad, are a few I recall off hand. Maybe send 'em a privite message? This Edge is the real deal & will continue to open some eyes: it's only just begun.......

Just look at the things you are digging, and how deep, and do not dig an Old Coin Program signal unless it is deeper than where you stop hitting tabs.

Works out just fine when you are watching the depth for digging deeper targets-I have 3 V nickels and 15 Buffalos to prove it. They all read high because they were deep.
Piece of Cake!

here's the low down. Originally it was just a "coins" preset. But it was only set for modern coins only. I mentioned to Fisher that personally when I coinshoot a yard or an old park I like to get indian heads too. I said just expanding the (+) range slightly would capture many indians rather than none at all. Fisher came up with (OC) & called it old coin preset & still kept the other as NC (new coin). It's just an addtional option, & I think the more the better. Some may never use it, some may love it, but it's there as a preset mode just in case.
So, I just made a suggestion. I won't lie & say I engineered anything like the guy on the other forum who banned me for eternity ;)

That was it's intent to get those type coins. Well done! I have not been able to use it much, only the 1 day in the field test & I did find an indian head with OC.
Make sure you let all these guys know who keep crying about not seeing any reports about the Edge. That's a fine little report right there...

I have to say that the ID Edge is a very easy machine to learn, fairly quiet in the iron.... although I dug plenty of nails that read between +21 to +36. Old coins mode is not like the CZ-3D, and the CZ's are definately deeper (and more expensive). Nickels are not a high tone, and the old coins are also not a high tone like the 3D. The ID Edge is light and comfortable and target separation is very good.

I especially did NOT like the pin-point system...as you need your eyes glued on the display and not on the ground. A bit distracting. Also, the Edge did not seem to 'lock on' to targets well at all...even missed (no signal) several of the deeper coins that the 3D hit with a solid high tone.

I don't believe NASA Tom had anything to do with the Edge..... and I think he may be working with other manufacturers possibly, he's not just a CZ only guy...from what I gather. Perhaps we should request that Fisher send him an EDGE for another extensive evaluation!

With all of the hype your evaluation is honest and others will say it is not a high end machine but all of the high end users like myself are ready for a new toy and this one doesn't cut it.

I also hope others will report their ID Edge experiences. There were some positive attributes that I really liked about the ID Edge, however they didn't justify me running to my local dealer and purchasing one.

because a 3D guy didn't take to it right away? Maybe you should get one before forming an opinion so quick over 1 post. Every other post I've seen so far has been positive. This IS a high end machine, & I will be using it going forward. But, gee, I must not be a "high end user" yet like you think you are. Sounds pretty exclusive, can I join? How come The ID-Edge is hitting quarters a foot deep? You must have missed that post huh? That sounds pretty "high end" to me. Click RON's banner above & look at what he has to say, & Andy Sabich too. All the tiny buttons & coins I found during the field test are pretty high end, & were in heavy trash areas that CZ's & other units have already been over. But, that must be "hype" too?. I can see now that this is going to be just like the C$ learning curve all over again. You CZ lovers were hoping it was a CZ with numbers, but it's 100% different. You guys have to get the CZ functionality out of your head & completely start over or your bound to fail. This is new technology that's going to take more than a 1 day trial. Pinpoint, yes, is far different to those usted to VCO. Nails do not read positive like that (only to a beginner who has not learned the tricks like to sweep in from various angles, etc. to generate the negative). Iron has a certain sound too, but like the C$ it takes hours to learn what the numbers all mean + the sounds. The only nail I ever dug with my Edge was one bent around into a circle. Folks really need to put the hours in & you have to want to learn. Guys who used a C$/Excel already will have no problem taking to the Edge right away. Folks coming in from other units have a learning curve hill to climb....Another huge mistake is that everyone seems to think "Old Coins" mode is somehow like a 3D's enhanced mode & nickels should be high tone, etc, which is not the case....
You guys love your 3D's that great. But, I wouldn't knock the Edge so fast without really learning it....
