Your opinion please. They're toying with the idea of putting up a AT PRO forum. What do ya think???

I know one thing. The ATPro Is gonna have to be one heck of a machine in my opinion to trump the Ace 250. I hope it lives up to all the hype! From the video's I watched it is the truth. We will see Tuesday.

Yeah I know and I mentioned that as I'm sure Garrett will come out with a couple of more ( top of the line ) detectors to complete the series a few months down the road. So are we going to have a forum for every detector Garrett produces. Defies logic for me.

Bill

I think that it would be cool to have a seperate AT Pro forum. The majority of posts on the Garrett forum now are AT Pro posts and I don't see that slowin' down any time soon. In fact I feel confident that as Spring and Summer approach and arrive, there will be even more AT Pro posts. I would even like to see an AT Pro / Scorpion forum. They are both 15 kHz and both great for gold. Just merge AT Pro onto Scorpion forum. Just my $.02:biggrin: Happy Hunting!:)

One other suggestion I have is that it might be premature to make this decision now.

The reason I say this is that assuming the rumors that Garrett is going to come out with a coin shooting version of the AT PRO, or whatever you want to call the update to the GTI line I think it is likely that many coinshooters who purchased AT PROs will sell them and buy the coin shooting version (probably after much complaining about how Garrett tricked them into buying AT PROs) and that the AT PRO traffic will die down some as the new machine gets more attention.

If the above assumptions prove to be true you guys could go to the trouble of setting up an AT PRO forum that ends up being a lot less busy than anticipated. Uncle Willy, you and John probably have the best contacts at Garrett for finding out if it makes sense to hold off on an AT PRO forum for this reason.

The Garrett forums were re-organized to:

Garrett AT PRO
Garrett GTI Series
Garrett ACE Series
Garrett Infinium/Sea Hunter class room

Just a thought

You wouldn't have to want for something to do. :throw:

It's absolutely a GREAT idea!

For those of us who use the forum for research, it'd be nice to have the Garrett section broken down into SEVERAL sub-sections (by model). For example, I'm considering both the AT Pro & the Garrett 1500 as a second machine.

I say go for it ... seems that if it doesn't work out as expected you could always go back to the way it was.

Give it a little bit of time for the hype to settle down. Seems to me there were a ton of posts even before the thing had made it into peoples hands. My guess is that there will end up being a New Garrett and Old Garrett forum... and possibly a John - Edmonton forum

Jeff

Well said John...I like the Ace forum idea and keep the AT and other top Garretts right here!

Alan

I give that idea a thumbs up...

Yes, I like the idea. There is so much on this forum covering all the detectors Garrett makes that it is sometimes hard to find the stuff that focuses on the AT Pro. I do not have other Garrett detectors, I would like to be able to find information and hints that are focused on this new detector. It may be that it would be worth creating sub-forums for each Garrett detector, each has its own peculiarities that do not necessarily lend themselves to other Garrett detectors making it worth considering. So consider this a "YES" vote for an ATPro forum.
