where to go when it rains..

I thought the ring was class of 67, oops! The note sorta looks like a kids handwriting, now that I look at it again.
 
found him.. his wife who was behind him in school had taken it off during gym and put it behind a post.. maybe a goalpost and it got ripped off.. he has no idea how it got to savanna from crystal lake..... seemed pretty excited... i'm going to mail it.... so nobody got done in........ he has no idea of who the guy is in the photo or the other stuff.....
 
talk about irony...went to find my class ring....... and have no idea where i put it... lol
 
Mail it??? Where does the guy live? Have him come get it. Get some pics. Gold prices are high,You found a ring lost 40 some years ago, tracked the guy down and now gotta pay to return it to him. lol There's something wrong with that,,hmmm,, I guess if you are good with it.
My self,,,NO WAY.
 
well it's a two hour drive.... and for the buck 95...well i got my mileage out of the story..lol.. he is going to call back later.. me i'm trying to dry out the other stuff and see if it says anything else... i guess i could use the ring for a day or so... bury it in the back yard and see how my detectors read it by itself... wonder what he'd think if i told him i wanted to bury it again... :)

I must say, for just posting this last night. This is the fastest I have ever seen someone track down the owner of a ring and have a plan to return it. Not to mention all the other things that was involved with this. Dave was , I think the most help. Translating the pig latin was quick.

I still think there was another girl involved. And this guy married his high school sweatheart. He may not want the entire story to unfold.:rofl: Could you imagine this ring find busts him for playing around 40 some years ago.That would be one for the BH front page.

There are still some unanswered questions. Who buried this and what do them items mean. I went and looked up voodoo,curses, spells. :clapping: I really didnt find anything, but there are some wierd things going on in this world . I did see alot of books on spells that involve different items used but no info without buying the book.

Keep us informed and try to get some more info about this. Dont make us the last one to know. Stay out of the caves, I'm not sure you was alone in there.:rofl::yikes:
 
well, crystal lake wasn't really that big then... roughly 6000 people.. in the four years of school i think the number was around 573 for all four grades and only one i could find with intitals of c. and I. so i'm playing the odds.... with class sizes of just over 145 or so kids how many can have those initials?
 
also it didn't make sense that he'd bury his own ring...so someone who didn't value it would have done it.. and if someone had stolen it or found it that would qualify.....the place i found it would have been a little harder to get to back then and i really can't imagine a girl going where i was for love or money....even if someone had told me it was there it would have been luck to find it ....
 
I think I would still mention the entire incident to the police to see if it fits into any unsolved crimes of the past.

Can you get some pictures of this cave. Inside and out. That would be awsome. I'm from MI,, there are not many caves around. Or should I say ,,,,, NONE. At least I have never seen one.
 
Flash, don't believe any VooDoo crap. Of course you see alot about it everywhere, we are less than a week away from HALLOWEEN.:surprised:

It is self fulfilling prophecy, and power of suggestion. All the items were pretty common I'd say. Mark and I both remember using a magnifying glass just like that one. Roy O. was a rock star in his heyday, at this time. Playing cards was a big activity then, like popping in a DVD is today. The deer antler has got me though. I don't remember to Fonz or Richie wearing anything like that.

Maybe T.M.B. was trying to bury the curse or bad karma she got for stealing the ring.

Last12know, Flash is right, that was an unbelievable fast turn over on a lost item like that. JOB WELL DONE!!
 
pictures of the cave? sure i guess i could do that if you really wanted to see it... we filled in all the holes and had dug up a lot of beer cans.... i know it was 2/3 of the way in on the rite hand side...wouldn't be able to get them for a bit though .. working this weekend... maybe i could get my brother to take them.... was his idea to try that one anyhow...i thought it'd be too muddy.. was actually pretty dry in there.

sides i was under the impression you guys found neat stuff all the time...only other things i found was a good sized case pocket knife and a good sized skeleton key...and the usual stuff ..belt buckle, toy cars,, change i'm still waiting for a diamond ring or a box full of gold.

and facebook i found is great for looking up people by year and school

well time to crash....

now that i'm thinking about it we should probably check the other caves before the pictures.... don't need any competition..lol
 
I know I kept mentioning it but NO I dont believe in none of that voodoo,.

It is all I could think with them items in one spot. 3 cards,not the whole deck, Cards have always meant something to the wicked.lol A picture,personell items and who writes in pig latin back in the 60's while burying something in a cave? We still dont what the note said. The glass was thier to magnify the spell. lol Accually just having a little fun with it.:clapping:

not worried about it..lol..... guy just called.. doesn't want me to send the ring he wants me to take him to the cave so he can see for himself. going to drive down next week. he also found a guy in the same class as his wife with the t.m.b. initials... it's strange as he is the only guy in the class that used his middle initial apparently.. so it gets murkier and murkier.. i'm awake now so i was going to go try and get a photo in a bit.
