Tesoro Cazador.... seriously,, what are you all expecting?

If the Cazador is not a target id unit..................I'm done with Tesoro. Their present target id units are so technologically behind it's laughable. Look at what their competition is offering in the Deleon price range. I agree with Monte if any part of their lineup is screaming for an update..... it is their so badly out of date target id units. I'm with you on this one Monte!!!

WOW!! I just posted a post to see what you primary Tesoro guys were hoping the new cazador would be,,,,figuring the answer would be "i would like to see this" or "i would like to see that". But it seems you guys are pretty excited about the upcoming Tesoro product. :) As far as answers to the actual post, i only got one answer from one guy who said, "i don't want it built on the high tech platform" "paraphrasing".....:) Good luck to all.

If you research this forum on the Cazador, you will find a detailed discussion of your question addressed again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again.......

My laughable Deleon scored silver #16 for the year. Sorry about the blurry pictures but that's the best I could do with my iphone for some reason.

I agree that other companies offer more features in the same price range, but they're not Tesoros. I've had some of the other machines with "more features" but none have been so much fun as the Deleon.

I'm anxious to see the Cazador too, but I can wait. I have no problem finishing the year with my laughable Deleon.

Dan

There's only one price point that Tesoro has to fill, it replaces the Golden Sabre. It's one step up from the Outlaw and will come with 3 coils.
The Tejon and the Lobo ST will still be Tesoro's top models.

Might as well get out there with what you have and start detecting.

I moved on with a killer machine. Glad I didn't wait.

Yea i think you are probably right. My question was sort of dumb since i think about it. Asking Tesoros users what they want in the next detector is like asking bicycle riders what they want in their next ride.. A sports car or another bicycle.

What I want to know if you think there so outdated why do you have one

Ps, as a prof auto tech sports cars can be unreliable and expensive to up
Keep

But on the other hand lots of fun if you don't mind the expense

My Vaquero has a purpose,, just not a primary purpose...

I just think as good as the Tesoros are,, that if they could and would take the next step, they could be unbelievable,, Just not excited about the next thing being the same thing.

Let's cut Tesoro some slack ,either the Cazador will be new and fantastic or (if they screw up) will be more of the same. A lot of customers hang in the balance. I hope they will surprise us ,I'd like to see them succeed and not go down the "Troy" highway!!! I'm hoping to own a Cazador, sooner or later.

I would like to know if you guys are hoping for another BEEP & DIG? or something along the line of a minelab Etrac or a whites V3i type platform,,,seriously if the cazador is another beep and dig, how do you expect it to be more than the Vaquero, Tejon, Cibola, lobo? or any other beep and dig they produce?? This isn't meant to be derogatory or argumentative, just wondering what Tesoro users are expecting? and why?

I want a machine that will show the image of the target. If it is a coin, I want instant grading & valuation next to the depth read out. I want the ability to photograph the item and if I want to post it on this forum, I want a GPS scrambler so my site cannot be located. I want an instant Fed alert in case I'm in an area I unknowingly shouldn't be. The shaft needs to be strong enough in case I need to ward off dogs or humans. I want the ability to change the signal to a high pitched, annoying screech to get rid of that person who needs to know what you lost, or gives the advice, "you ain't gonna find anything here."
The coil should be aero-dynamic so after a hard day of detecting, I can use it as a discus & play Frisbee.
I want a theft device installed. If the machine senses finger prints other than my own, it will explode and cover the person with purple dye. I want a signal that will cause MAJOR disruption to others using non-Tesoro detectors (manual of course).
That's alI I can think of right now.:wiggle:

Wow, good ideas TAB!...a simple cigarette lighter would have had me at hello..:crylol:.

SERIOUSLY! Whats the next step? VLF technology has not advanced in years. Yea receivers have more gain, there have been some new coils, BUT that's about it. Going all digital, is that really an advancement? To me it seems more of a way of helping indecisive people have some decisions made for them.

So what is this big next step you speak of?

Perfect. But, don't forget the refrigerator and grill attached to the shaft for longer hours on site. If Tesoro doesn't have at least a chest mountable ice box and microwave oven, I'm done with them I tell you!

. GREAT QUSETIONS! I like the disclaimer you used, some people can get very touchy! The following is not intended to be argumentative or insulting: Minelab Etrac, V3i? Doubt it. It will likely be a beep & dig (hopefully 4 tone) with no display (or a very small one). Since someone "lost the software" for the Golden's programming, the Caz will probably be a newer version of the Golden Umax. I would think they could have re-written the Golden's software AND introduced the Caz in all the time they have been buzzing about the "new" Tesoro. I hope it will be something ground breaking that will make people want to try it. I sincerely apologize if I offended anyone by the above statements, that was not my intention.

I think it will have a better TID of some sort, going towards the line of the Deleon yet more controls like the Cortez, since Tesoro has the "beep and dig" well covered.

Can't say this with full 100% accuracy, as I thought Romney would be President. So the cap has let me down a few times.:lol:

I like this answer the best:rofl:

As Tesoro have this new Cazador project currently on the drawing board or should i say bringing it off the drawing board too fruition,as most detector manufactures have top flight names in designing new detectors and i dont mean cosmetic make overs either,i mean whizz kid electronics so who have Tesoro got ???? i cannot for the life of me see any top flight electronic whizz kids been mentioned !!! So i am starting too think who is going to design this new super detector if they have not got the engineers.

I may have it wrong but many folks are expecting a earth shattering new design with all the latest super duper electronics inside but with no top flight engineers to design/produce this new model how are Tesoro going to produce a radical new model.

All answers on a post card please,i am not knocking Tesoro in any shape or form but really struggling on how they are going to get around this massive problem.

I'll be too busy detecting this summer to worry about the Caz. I can barely control the things I am supposed to, let alone worry about the things I have no control over.
It will be here when it gets here, and when it arrives ill try it.
If I like it, me keep it.
If me no like, me no keep.
I leave the rest- the design, features and performance of the Caz, as well as the management decisions of the company to those smarter than me.
Cheers and HH!

I'd like to see it have multi tone, have multi frequencies with a 3 way toggle switch for 4khz , 10khz , 18 kHz , have the abily to use or adapt to any tesoro coil and be water proof to 30 feet or so and be great in both salt and fresh water. It must have the ability to manual ground balance in both all metal and disk. Not sure if a display is needed and cost In the $500 range lol just wishing

Sounds like a supped up Tejon! I like this concept !

I think you'll have to get a Swingy Thingy! We should be careful what we say here. Tesoro engineers may add some of this stuff to the design and set development of the Caz back a couple of years. Personally, I'm good with my Outlaw. It gets me outdoors to have fun and talk to Mr. Chipmunk. It doesn't matter if I had the top of the line White's, Minelab, or whatever. A chipmunk doesn't give a rat's a$$. :jump:
