[size=large]quit high-school in 68 and went into the U.S.M.C. spent four yrs. last two as prison guard at camp pendelton correctional facility.
got out in 72' and tried ship repair then settled into a company that made lumber-handling equipment. all this in portland, or. got layed off and in three weeks was hired by the Tri-County Metropolitan Transit Authority ( TRI-MET ) in portland. did first 6.5 yrs as a driver.my next 2 yrs as a maintainance helper then 10 yrs as bus/diesel mechanic. ruined my shoulders and was allowed to take a job in the purchasing/ stores dept. for the rest of my 33.3 yrs with the company. had to retire because of shoulder probems.in 2008.
got hooked on treasure hunting at age 11 where i read the book,"The Lost Dutchman Mine". found my first coin in a stream feeding a lake.a walking liberty half dollor. i was 12. i've had a couple of radio shack detectors since mid 80's. had no idea how to operate them. came into some money in may of 2010 and bought my first quality machine and it's mate a GTI 1500 and a ACE 250 then in june my whites xlt. and in dec. my minelab explorer se pro. been learning since May all that i didn't know. still at it. married to my bride of 42 yrs. and we have two sons and three daughters with 10 grandkids.

I retired as an Underground Utility Locate Manager. I returned to work last year as a Compliance Officer.
