:shrug:Lots Of Talent On This Forum..."WHAT DO/DID YOU DO FOR A LIVING"

This year will notch up my 20th year of work at a large sheep abattoir. Most of that time (17yrs) as a knife hand/labourer and the last 3 running a couple of machines. prior to moving to Dubbo, I used to be a Postie, working out of the GPO delivering mail within the Sydney CBD. I resigned that to move to Dubbo and sell life insurance on commission only. Tough gig. Wasn't my cup of tea.
Been married since 87, have 2 boys,15 and 17. I've been learning to play the harmonica for the last 15 months (it's going to take a year or 2 still till I'm up to speed on it, then will have a crack at guitar and singing after that. Once the kids are supporting themselves, I'll take up flying and may even contemplate a career change then too.

Never thought of it as work but more as pleasure. Have been a published writer for 30 years with 400-500 magazine articles and field tests under my belt. Have been a field tester for Garrett for 16 years or so and was field test editor for Gold & Treasure Hunting magazine for a couple of years before they folded and I have operated this forum for about 15-16 years but it has been pure pleasure...

I have had a slew of jobs in my life but I won't list them all except for one. I worked for Western Electric way back in the early fifties in Waukegan, Illinois where I helped install the very first " dial across country telephone system" in the U.S.
