My 2 Reales worth..

he is lying right from the start, the sunrays will get 3" and give ID through whichever detector your using it on. Ive used them, dont have one now or any pinpointers but be careful believing these youtube videos, way to easy to make it look exactly as they want.

Then Ive got to assume they are all lying , because every post I read from people who use pistol probe say the same thing

I understand the pistol probe gets good depth (distance) for a pinpointer. I have checked one out but it was just to big for me, so I didn't actually use it in the field. I think I read somewhere that having one in the holster may get some wrong ideas in public areas as folks who don't detect generally have no idea. I just couldn't pull the trigger on purchasing it at the time.
I haven't asked or researched if the Pistol Probe is actually the replacement for the pocket Uni-Probe, meaning are they going to stop making the pocket Uni-Probe. I still have my pocket Uni-Probe

Yea shambler, that's kinda scary, ain't it. Only reason I didn't by the Propointer was every body wanted exactly the same odd price to the penny. I found that kinda "spooky". I let you know what I get. It has to be, "gulp" an improvement over my Harbor Freight! :lmfao::lmfao::lmfao:

Good luck.

There's only two prices that detector dealers can sell detectors and accessories: 1.) MSRP (or some other variation of that acronym) which in the "Coin Recovery" kit for the pinpointer is $180.80 ----- then there's MAP (generally, manufacturer approved price) and that's the $127.45 price. Selling at a price lower than the MAP will void your dealer contract and you're out of business. Most manufacturers will allow you to throw in some "gifts" IE. Sunray probe, books, pouches, etc. but Tesoro will not, which is why KellyCo probably doesnt sell them. If you do a search for ETrac on ebay you'll see they are all selling for $1498.95 - that's the lowest the dealer is allowed to sell it and still be a dealer -- there's even one dealer throwing in a Garmin GPS, USB stick, ML digging tool, etc. if you buy one from him.

of course thats up to you to assume that. Ive never used the pistol probe so I cant say about that one but from the getgo he is bsing as Ive used the sunrays, vibraprobes, uniprobes, tinytec....those Ive used, those I can give honest comment on and I did.

He only gets 1 inch with his sunray??????NO way..I get 3 inches ...Not sure what hes talking about..The pistol probe goes deepest..Sunray 2nd..garret then whites..The nice thing with the sunray..No probe hanging off your belt..It runs with the detectors batteries,it uses the detectors discrimination if u want..You wont lose it becuase u forgot it or droped it..You wont ever forget it home, unless u forgot your detector..I have tried them all but the garret..SUN-Ray in the only way...IN my PERSONAL opinion..Hope you get one u like ..HH

Hey, give me the inch..... I don't wantto have a mini-Mine Lab. I surely don't need a pin pointer to pin point for my pin pointer. One inch is groovy. But, to each his own :surrender:

I had the HH pinpointer, and like you say it does ok. As for
the Vibra-probe, it cost an arm and a leg. It BETTER be good for that kind of money but I just
bought the Garrett Pro-pointer and took it out for a test drive, and believe me the Harbor Frieght is
done! R.I.P. little fella.

If your sensitivity is way down because of EMI, you might only get 1" on the 1" coil. Most people don't hunt in all-metal, no-motion - which is what probes like the propointer and pistol probe give you. You don't have to wave it over the target repeatedly or check handfuls of dirt. You point right at the target and dig a little more. I think I was recovering targets more quickly with my pro-pointer, but I have had the luxury with the Sunray of stopping my recovery because the ID was different after the hole was opened.

I understand the arguments for both sides on this.

The Pistol Probe rocks!!!!!!!:beers:
