New. Tv. show-american-digger/

That was a great video, and I would watch that show for sure. But I would also watch diggers for sure. I do want to mention that I am not in the show. Could the producers have taken it a different way? Maybe. Are they more excited than others? for sure! do we dig and fill all holes and respect landowners? you bet! On that Vid I saw mention of several things that almost every hater has expressed. The worth of an object. Dancing and carrying on. Getting to excited about a find. I didnt see any holes being filled in even though I know they were.

The producers did consult qualified detectorists Team ATC has over 10 years a piece of experiance. What the naysayers dont realize is that everyone wants to see something to their likng on the show it takes 8 straight days of filming to make a 22 minute episode. So how do you cram everything into 22 minutes.
Before I comment, let me say that I am expressing my views most respectfully. I watched the show and I have to say I enjoyed several aspects of it, but as a new guy to the hobby I can watch most anything and learn something, but I too was a bit let down by the lack of "edicate". You say you cant cram everything into 22 min of air time, I understand that, but the content folks here are talking about DOESNT have to have special, dedicated segments, but rather explain these things as you are doing the search, or the digging AND recovering of holes. Ya know, when you are down on your hands and knees beginning the dig, take a couple of seconds and turn to the camera as if to make the point to your viewers that good practices will get you invited back and possibly open other doors in the area. It doesnt have to be alot, just a little less silliness, and a bit of digger edicate and education would go a long way. To be honest, I like the idea of the comradery between a couple of buddies sharing the hobby, the excitement of a good find and even the personal bets between buds, thats exactly what I would like to have with a friend or my son, but if you can find time in the 22 minutes to lick a jellyfish, SURELY you can find a few seconds here and there to promote good practices. This may be the difference in a really good ( funny, interesting, educational and responsible ) show and just another dumb reality show. Personally, I hope the show does well, but only if it represents the hobby and the hobbyist in a positive way.
Best regards.
Ken.
