New from Fisher

It looks like the arm rest cup to me with perhaps the battery compartment hanging below it. Sure looks like it's got the T2 coil. Matter of fact the entire shape looks like the T2 to me. HH

Bill said he was not working with Fisher but if he is then this should be worth the wait?

a little kid on Christmas Eve! Looking at that covered up detector reminds me of shaking presents under the tree! :)

... but it is a nice red blanket!

But seriously, if that really is a new Fisher detector under there, it pleases me that Fisher is apparently moving away from that "breadbox on a stick" look and upgrading into a more modern appearance. I know that appearances are only superficial but good looks do help sales and acceptance in the marketplace. And, that's good for Fisher and Fisher fans too. Fishers are top performing machines and they should look like it.

I'm very interested in what's under there.

Not really a true hump, just appears that way from the cover over it.
But if you were to guess based on the location of it, what would you say it was?

I think in the coming months you will see some good things from Fisher, they are working hard at keeping Fisher's Reputation the way it should be!
It will be good, that they have the funds to continue and bring out new detectors, the way the old Fisher should have, and wanted to but thats another story.
so hang on and lets keep eyes peeled for the upcoming months.

Wow....Bounty Hunter bought Texas Instruments??? Good for them

Actually, posting a $3million dollar loss in a hobby market means the music had already died. First Texas has restrung the instruments and started the music back up. Quality wise, the T2 has better quality construction than the CoinStrike. Name wise, how can you make fun when you are using something called a CZ3D

HH

I gather the way some keep saying fisher, that they must have bought the name along with the company. Which I have no problem with. But of all the years that Bounty Hunter (TEXAS Parent co. of Bounty) had to improve and update their machines. In the past, I have never seen them to have any inclination to do so. Except to make their detectors look like a real genuine imitation death star laser gun. If their trend of improving the outside and not the inside continues, then give me the loaf of bread on a stick any old time. HH

and yes many BH fans are waiting to see something else, but I guess the mass market can only handle the deathstar look

I'm still excited about the hobby and the machines that make it work. As long as they don't take it backwards, I think it will all be good.

IF this machine turns out to be the greatest thing since sliced bread. (no pun intended) Well, not much anyway. Then I'll be right there in line with the others. I've got 2 ML, 2 Whites, 2 Fisher, 1 Tesoro and 1 Garrett. So I'm not brand loyal, for me it's just a matter of what works best in my area. If this turns out to be the new ticket. Then like I said, I'll be in line with the rest. Perhaps even trying to bribe my way closer to the front.
It's just that after all these years it's hard to shuffle off the not so great imagine Bounty hunter has deservably acquired. HH

Hey Lawrenzo and Bill,

The new Fisher under the blanket "if it's true" most likely will have a lower kHz to penetrate deeper for coins or higher conductive signals, It will not be as sensitive as the T-2 on lower conductors and smaller size objects.

So searching old parks for deep old coins the new fisher will be the better choice and will not respond to the tiny bits and pieces of aluminum the T-2 loves, Most likely the new fisher will have the same or similar DD coil as the T-2 only with a lower kHz. It's hard to say how low, maybe between 9 to 11 kHz and maybe even as low as the CoinStrike "7 kHz." From what I've seen, Dave Johnson enjoys a higher kHz over a lower which is something most relic and gold prospectors prefer but for coin shooters most likely he'll bend and go lower.

Hopefully the Pig under the blanket is real, If it is it'll be a nice addition for fisher fans :)
