My thoughts on the new Cazador...........

Something Tesoro users don't seem to get: If I cover the display with tape on my Minelab X-Terra, (or most any Fisher, White's etc.) and switch to one tone. It will now be a one-tone beep & dig machine like my old Vaquero! In my case, I look at the screen for a reference, but then decide to dig based purely on the tones. I don't have to go and buy a one-tone machine with no display, I already have the option. So the technology is always there whether you use it or not, not so with (most) Tesoro's.

I think the last thing Tesoro has on their mind is a pinpointer. A lot of people are waiting to see what their latest offering will be like...............if it's not steller..... they may lose a lot of customers. I have my money ready to go......they can have it.........but they must earn it... and the detector should be out ...soon!!! A Winter/December intro would really suck!

Agree with this I would like to see it hit the market at least by late August as Sept is the month I usually get to hit the older farms in my area less snakes :detecting:

Lately I've been getting old and lazy, so yes, multi-tones and screens are nice. However, they are still based upon the same principles and can still be fooled. Tesoro's force you to think, interpret and CHALLENGE. Let's face it, most us aren't getting rich metal detecting, so why do we do it? It's the challenge and test of skill. It goes back to that old proverbial saying,"why do people climb mountains?" "Because they are there.":twodetecting:
Considering the fact that I am 65, and still have several thousand square miles of Nevada to clean up, I do long for multi-tones & screens sometimes so I can cherry pick. Oh I think Tesoro owners get it and we know we could pop for any one of the name brand detectors out there. Also, how many of them are light weight and just plain fun to swing? Fisher looks to be a candidate. I've had many top of the line White's and Minelabs; all great detectors - I get it!

It looks like the Caz won't be coming out until at least mid summer, at the earliest...maybe later. Boy I wish they would have moved that date up.You'd figure a company serving a small niche market would be a bit more agressive. Sony for example...got a bit lax and now they are laying off 20,000 people. They are on the way to becoming a niche company ... after niche comes zero!!!

Someone from Tesoro could chime in here and shed a little light so we can stop holding our breath.

We already know its not coming out for a number of months.
It has to be field tested and many areas are still under ice and snow, especially up north.
They need really good field tests from 4 different areas with different soil conditions--North, South, East, West
As well as different hunting types, coin, beach, relic..................
Figure that's going to take at least a month or two.

At least it will give everyone time to save up for the Caz or pay off the charge card to use when its released.

Field testing before the Cazador goes in production is a good ideal. The Outlaw was field tested after it went into production.

All I'm saying is don't rush it, get it right the first time.
