Just don't submerge it while water hunting and maybe it will be fine. My third one (second replacement) is on it's way back to Whites. THAT'S IT FOR ME . . . DONE!

Sorry to hear of your troubles, and that is a shame it was rushed out the door because with a bit more effort it could have been a good machine,

Aside from the modulation/pinpoint issues, I've noticed that when I lift the coil out of the water (freshwater lake) and then submerge, the detector sounds off until the coil is fully underwater. This also happens when the coil is, for whatever reason, partially submerged. It's very much like what I saw on a Youtube vid where a woman was hunting in salt water. This would be in coin mode, tracking on, sens anywhere from 3 to 8, iron notched out, modulation on (can't hurt, I figure.. even if it doesn't work), disc. volume at 2, 8 tone, and with a barely audible threshold.
It's weird that it's reacting to freshwater in such a manner, and the settings shouldn't cause it to do so. Luckily, I'm generally hunting from waist to chest deep, so it's not yet much of an issue.. tho it might be something that White's might want to have a look at if others are experiencing the same.
