there are a few Dealers that are still selling Defective machines, There were sent a memo regarding the sales of the mxs saying ( Out of Stock ) and the truth is it has been discovered that it now has an issue with the Pod, There are a couple of dealer else where that have also confirmed the Content of that Memo,

As I pointed out back in February about this machine those issues are still a major problem now and now there are 2 or 3 additional problems which will be resolved, but as to when is a mystery in it's self, If dealer with no morels is will to sell you an mxs then all well and good, but remember to will have back to whites to get it repaired, Personally I would not buy a broken machine just to get it repaired when that should have been done before shipping, Good luck with your Choice .

Im not buying one but I used all of the post to form an opinion and based my info on that and rebuked a guy based on that info and he disproved the stop selling bit. I violated my on rule and I guess thats what I get.

When they get this fixed in about 6 months time then maybe it will be worth a look, but we have had people claiming they are a great machine and the next minute they are having nothing but troubles, So we need to hold fire and wait to see what happens but to be safe 6 months is the bare minimum that I would wait to avoid disappointment,

Machine works good for me. Got it a month ago.

Just don't submerge it while water hunting and maybe it will be fine. My third one (second replacement) is on it's way back to Whites. THAT'S IT FOR ME . . . DONE!

Sorry to hear of your troubles, and that is a shame it was rushed out the door because with a bit more effort it could have been a good machine,

Figured I'd chip in with something I've noticed with my *updated* MXS. Aside from the modulation/pinpoint issues, I've noticed that when I lift the coil out of the water (freshwater lake) and then submerge, the detector sounds off until the coil is fully underwater. This also happens when the coil is, for whatever reason, partially submerged. It's very much like what I saw on a Youtube vid where a woman was hunting in salt water. This would be in coin mode, tracking on, sens anywhere from 3 to 8, iron notched out, modulation on (can't hurt, I figure.. even if it doesn't work), disc. volume at 2, 8 tone, and with a barely audible threshold.

It's weird that it's reacting to freshwater in such a manner, and the settings shouldn't cause it to do so. Luckily, I'm generally hunting from waist to chest deep, so it's not yet much of an issue.. tho it might be something that White's might want to have a look at if others are experiencing the same.

"I wouldn't be too concerned about that as all the Minelab's do that too (as do other brands) when they go from ' thin-air' and a certain Temp to 'cold water' and a different environment to where it had been 3 seconds ago!
Of course there will be [ a transitional period ] while it re-adjusts to the conditions that it's in after immersion"

It's something that I never had happen with my MXT tho. I was water hunting today and notice that holding the coil perpendicular to and just under the waters' surface led to constant raspy/burbling falsing.
