Just finished adding Ground balance to my Cibola

End results were excellent. Using 9x8" coil, now Air tests about 1 1/2 - 4" deeper than fixed groundbalance in all metal. Gained 1- 3" in disc. mode.
Meets or exceeds the air test results I got with the Tejon I owned.

Hot little booger with the 5 3/4" coil, too.

I am happy with the results using the 10 turn pot for GB.

When my back gets better, going to take it for a test run.

Here's some pix
Just ordered the parts from mouser!!! The pot is almost 30 now, but still a good deal.
Found the how to online and gonna give it a go.
I have a question sven, what would happen if you left the trim pot on and also soldered in the 10 turn pot?

If you left the trimmer in place the 10 turn potentiometer would not have any effect, you have to remove the trimmer.
Would the trim pot be the main and the 10 turn for fine tuning?
Thanks. And I hope I don't ruin my machine lol. Warranty void since it was used when I bought it.

If you leave the trimmer in place it will drop your resistance in that circuit and prob not be able to ground balance the Cibola.. resistors connected in parallel reduce the total resistance of the circuit..the total resistance will always be lower than the valve of the smallest resistor.

Ok cool. Makes sense. Been a while since working with schematics and calculating resistances and stuff. Still remember how to solder though !! Lol.
Thanks for the answer!!!

I took it out yesterday for the first time to test it, plus was testing the wire-free headphones.
It worked really well. The area has a lot of trash. I ran higher disc hoping to pull out some silver and not having to dig as much trash. I did find one wheatie along with a couple of clad quarters one dime and a few memorial cents
