Depends upon your soil. And what mode your in all metal or disc.
GB for neutral in all metal. Monte says When switched to disc mode Tesoro go positive (positive offset). So you would have go
slightly negative with the GB control.

What I did was adjust for neutral in all metal, make a mental reference point of where the GB is set. Then rotate the GB knob negative
1/4 to 1/2 turn when using a 10 turn pot when hunting in disc mode.

i think this spring i will put together A CIBOLA GB Kit,(Bourne 10 turn 50k oms precision ground balance control AND all other components (AM to Disc.toggle switch) and all Necessary hardware......and PDF File on how to do it...price to be announced

Why?
I already made the pdf. files with instructions. Keith and I made all the info available free for others to use.
Parts are readily available dirt cheap on ebay.
Had I or Keith S. thought we could make money making kits would have done it years ago.
Your best bet is to offer to do the mod for others. You would make much more money.
I would do them but, live in Canada so its not cost effective for US Cibola owners to send them up.
So I refer as well as other do to contact Keith S. in Georgia who originated the mod, he has done many many of them.

10 Turn pot Bournes on ebay $2.99 includes shipping
Knob $1.00-5.00 each
Toggle switch on ebay as low as 20 cents each if you buy 5, free shipping
If your looking for the longer lever toggles, get it directly from White's GMT toggle P/N 358-0011, three position like on the Tejon

There's a lot of Cibola owners who should not be tinkering inside the detector. If they mess up the installation by damaging the circuit board in any way or the mod'd detector needs servicing in the future, its not covered by warranty.

i already have a metal detector dealer offering me for the kit, but thank you for your input, for antone interested contact me @ https://www.facebook.com/groups/1669582276614729/
if you do not understant the basics of electronics ,i do not recomend this kit

I modded mine with the 50K ten turn pot with a locking dial...

I've only used it in my test garden so far.. I like it.... it is sweet on my deep targets... it hit on three that it wouldn't before..

End results were excellent. Using 9x8" coil, now Air tests about 1 1/2 - 4" deeper than fixed groundbalance in all metal. Gained 1- 3" in disc. mode.
Meets or exceeds the air test results I got with the Tejon I owned.

Hot little booger with the 5 3/4" coil, too.

I am happy with the results using the 10 turn pot for GB.

When my back gets better, going to take it for a test run.

Here's some pix
Just ordered the parts from mouser!!! The pot is almost 30 now, but still a good deal.
Found the how to online and gonna give it a go.
I have a question sven, what would happen if you left the trim pot on and also soldered in the 10 turn pot?
Would the trim pot be the main and the 10 turn for fine tuning?
Thanks. And I hope I don't ruin my machine lol. Warranty void since it was used when I bought it.

Wow I way overpaid for the parts.
My pot was $28 (used mouser.com) and the switch in the PDF is obsolete so I got the newer version. Total cost was $34 before shipping :-(
