Is there anyone who detects that has not found a Silver coin ???

There's probably a ton of newbies that haven't found one. They're as scarce as hens teeth in many parts of the country anymore. Back when I started in this hobby ( 1963 ) you could practically scoop them up off the ground with a shovel - but then they weren't worth anything because all coins in circulation back then were silver.

I received my coin from Elton today and I just wanted to say thank you, what a great gesture. I ran it under my coil and low and behold it came in with a different tone and ID number that a clad one. I will be finding some this year but this one will not be forgotten. This is a great hobby full of great people. P.S is the Postal Service quick or what? Just kidding but I am a little bias.

I still go back to the 80;s when silver was just about everywhere,, I dragged out my coins that i had in a box that i found back in the day and was suprised at the amount that was there,, probably 50 silver dimes,, 4 large cents,, couple barber dimes,, 30 silver quarters,, and rolls of wheats,, at least 500,, fast forward to today,, last year,, 1 silver quarter,, 2 silver dimes,, 1 merc,,
this year so far,, 1 silver quarter,, and 1 silver coin from austria,, 1853, oh,, and 2 IH;s,, the silver is there,, an although i havce a hard time finding,, you have to go where it is,, and be patient,, dig up those whispers,, it sure isnt getting any shallower,,

Back in the 80's I had a whites 6000di pro and was popping like 10 silvers a day out of a NYC park (park made in 20's I think), they went back to the 1930's..They were around 4 to 7 inches deep..I never found a indian head though or old copper besides wheat pennies....My greatest find was a 1917 half dollar found under a tree at 10 inches in another NYC park, the 6000 was a silver hound..The meter was dead on accurate when it hit silver, it went just above quarter if it was a silver quarter, same with silver dimes

I just wanted to respond that I have received the coins you have mentioned. They are so beautiful and thank-you once again for the offering you have provided. I will make use of them in a most positive way with my x70. Thankful I will always be because of your kind gesture. Thank-you Elton

If you ever choose to offer this again please let me know. I have been detecting a little over a month and have found over $87.00 in clad. I would give it all up to find one silver merc. Is the silver deeper? I am not sure what to do

Coin50 PM me your address and I will send you some silver.

I just found my first silver exactly a week ago today! It was a 42 merc! What a feeling it was!! Also, this is an amazing thing to do elton and montana!! Shows the true spirit of this hobby!
