Let me know if you want to hear it ( Read it) LOL....

I recently had I woman ask me if I could find her diamond, with my metal detector. I said sure, where did you lose the ring? She said "I didn't lose the ring, just the diamond." I should of looked for it anyway, cause she is HOT.

Larry's hat is more of a jungle hat. It has corks that hang from strings. They swing when you move to keep mosquitoes off your neck. I wouldn't feel right about taking Larry's hat. It means alot to him I know. I don't wear hats, as I have full head of hair.
Besides Larry already said there would not be any prizes at our next club hunt, and Larry would not go back on his word.

I keep my coin finds in a mini M&Ms container. It holds between 40 and 50 dirty coins. Elton did your think that maybe that fella kept his coin finds in the Thermos. I bet it would hold several hundred. You guys may have walked away from a virgin site loaded with silver.

I think maybe the heat and humidity is getting to some of us.

Elton tell it.

was on Vacation on an Island off Georgia a few years back.Had a Sand Shark detector with me. Got up early and hit the beach. Now as fate would have it a Sharks head had washed up on the beach and was laying there...it was a Hammer head..Looked like a ship hit it.......pretty torn up..

I kept detecting and about 300 feet down the beach a lady asked me what was I doing with the Shark machine..........She read the side I guess.

Well I just had to do it. I said I am looking for buried Sand Sharks before the beach opens.......Don't want anyone getting bit.. She said REALLY !! Sharks buried..
I said yes, they burrow in the sand thats why their called Sand Sharks, but please don't tell anyone..I shouldn't be telling you this LOL.. I then explained I found one down the beach and the head was laying there for pick up... She got wide eyed and said where I want to see it.. Now I'm about to crack up because she is buying this crap hook line and sinker... I showed her by pointing down the beach..She took off to see the shark. She is watching every step she takes too. Looking for Sharks in the sand I guess LOL.as people come down to the beach I see her talking to them and pointing ( So much for not telling LOL).....About an hour later the lifeguards got there and was pulling out chairs and umbrellas.........I see this lady heading for a guard so I come up behind them and she says to the guard..Your not opening yet are you. That man hasn't found all the buried sharks yet......... I started walking away fast LOL......... She said "him". and she pointed at me LOL, he's killing the sharks he finds with that Shark machine.. Hahahahahah Well the life guard looks and starts laughing.he said Ma'am that's a metal detector he has, and he finds money and stuff.. That doesn't find sharks.Who told you that..She said he did and pointed again in my direction ........Well the guard is cracking up by now..I was out of ear shot by then, but can imagine what he said..LOL.when all of a sudden I hear in a loud scream ..You aaaaaaaazzzzz hole... I believed you ............Your not funny...........well I was laughing pretty hard and thought I was very funny............. Hey I hooked her didn't I..LOL.... A little later as I was leaving the guard saw me..he walked over and started laughing..........he said wow you sure had that lady going didn't you............that was funny.........but don't do it again..people might panic.......... but that was a good one he said.........I laughed and walked away thinking.not till the next time anyway..Hahahahahhahaha
That's pretty much how it happened , I hadn't thought about doing that little deal for awhile.........I was proud of myself for getting her to bite !!! LOL

NO Dave.and not very good looking either as I remember.......... Kinda dumb too LOL........But it sure was funny !!!!!! At the time.

Aw shucks Dave, that is my authentic Aussie hat. I'll have to get a picture. I had two of them, kept one and donated the other to the club to auction off, Capt. Ron bought that one.

LOL Elton hey that Island is 2 hrs north of me .....did you find any goodies....haven't tried it there but thought about it........hh......Dan

Elton---My wife just read your "shark hunting expedition" story & she just cracked up---FUNNY!------Hey Dan, you just gotta get all this captured in print & put in a book!!--I just KNOW it would VERY QUICKLY become a best seller & face the test of time to later become a CLASSIC!!!---What might the title of said "book" be?----How about--"The Life and Times Of A Few Dumb AZZed Detectorists"---or perhaps "We Hunt Treasure (AND SHARKS) With A Metal Detector". ----If we do this right, we could ALL stand to make a FORTUNE on this GREAT & WONDERFUL book!! :bouncy: ------Del

Yep Del. we may have found treasure right here....and had fun.......tell some more guys

Seriously though..a guy later that week using a Sov.found 21 Rings..Good to imitation variety......He had them in a bag..........looked pretty impressive..

I knew I should have brought a metal detector and not a "Shark: Detector LOL....... The Sand Shark didn't really handle the Salt water beach very well. Erratic, and poor depth..about 4" max........Where as that guys Sov seemed to be very, very deep detecting on the signals I saw him dig. He hit a couple pull tabs at 12" while I watched.. I didn't find any signals near that depth...I also didn't hit the water... Waves were to rough..........I tried once in the water and was knocked around so bad it wasn't worth it.. I suspect if you got there on a calm day water wise, you could pull some rings near shore, but I'm thinking they would be deep..seems like Sand is always moving in and out more than a normal beach does. I buried a bottle cap at the shore line, and next morning it was to deep for my machine..or got sucked out at High Tide..

Thanks Elton, I gotta get up there sometime this summer.......21 rings that is a good hunt for sure.......hh......Dan
PS even over a weeks time that 21 is good.

I got another one kinda......I raised two mixed puppies that wondered up to my home.....They love to dig you outta see my yard, partly my fault also hahaha any way one day a couple years back I was looking at one of their holes and I spotted something ....It was a very old and very stout rusty lock,,,,hmmmm no writing or marks on it I could find.....Makes me wonder what that heavy duty lock was on hmmmmm.hh......Dan
PS dogs got very good smellers they smell in parts per million, thats how they find their way home miles and miles away. They can even smell their owners dead skin flakes we all shed, think about blood hounds tracking people they got super sniffers hahaha.........Think I could train one to find coins ,treasure etc lol

Hey Roy....Did you ever see or hear of a dog digging up something good.......or any of you guys and gals lets hear it.

LOL If I had of had a dog that would dig for me I might not have ended up with this Histplasmosis so if we can get them trained I want one. Maybe one of you guys can get it trained by the time I can get out again:twodetecting: believe me I'm ready. Hey Larry mabe you can get General trained for Nancy:clapping:

One fall day while I was at Barber Park, a man with a black lab walked through the area I was detecting. When the dog got close, it started pawing at the leaves on the ground with both front feet. I told the man that I could use a good diggin dog, and we all went back to what we were doing. An hour or so later another man comes along with a yellow lab and it does the same thing, digging in the leaves. Neither dog saw me while I was actually digging a target. I thought that it was somewhat odd behavior, and a weird coincidence, but I wondered after that if a dog could sniff out silver. They can smell cancer in peoples bodies.
