I was about 10-12 years old burying a mayonaise jar with coins and a note saying something like this......I hope someone in the future finds this and it worth some money it's not enough to do me any good but maybe It will do you some good.......Thinking back on this I know I was a treasure hunter way back then.I was also wanting someone to find it and share in the excitement of the find......We are all kindred spirits and we love this hobby.I like sharing our finds and stories with each other. We share our detecting knowledge, even though they may act different in various soil types we learn from each other All the pics and videos are exciting,For some they are holding on to that as their health no longer allows them to detect they can just look at their detectors and hope and pray that maybe just maybe one day they will have the strenght to detect just one more time. I have spoken with folks in this situation,They still love it as good as you and I.......With that being said I think we should be gratefull and get along that we can do and share all the great things about our hobby......I like theF75LTD....It does a great job when you get to know it......HH....God Bless........Dan

I agree completly with you.
Thanks for the reminder
God Bless
Mark

I remember the general area. But can't find them now .. I'm thinking my brother dug them up about 5 minutes after I put em in the ground.. LOL

Nice thoughtful post !!!

Good call Dan,
As I get older, I realize how quickly time passes. We really don't have the time to fight and bicker over trivial things. I never can understand how some people can be so mean to each other.
Live and learn.

I agree completely also!----I might ad-for those of us that can (and are able)----get out there and enjoy your hunt time.--For none of knows what "tomorrow holds"!---I know that I cherish the hunts that my wife & I have been blessed to enjoy together over the years and she feels the same way.---The time that we've enjoyed & spent together on those hunts is FAR MORE precious than anything we've ever found.---I'll never forget them & nobody can ever take those memories away from us.---I'm 71 now & I notice I don't have the stamina I once had on longer hunts but I'm still like a kid when I see the glint of silver down in that hole. :) --------God Bless, Del & Patsy

It is amazing how priorities are changed and compassion is deveoped. As a younger man I liked to fight and would'nt cry for nothing. Now fighting is foolish and emotions are excepted and welcomed. We truely are blessed!

Great post Dan, and I totally agree. I embarked upon this wonderful hobby some 36 years ago now and I can no longer recall my first gold ring or silver coin, but I can recall many, many of the wonderful fellow hunters I have encountered over these year's. Several, of which, are on this forum and I have never even met. I hit the 70 year old mark today and I am blessed that I can still get out and enjoy this great hobby on almost a daily bases. I truly believe it has helped me from feeling my age. Now, if the temps would just drop a few degrees I could last in the field longer.:detecting: It will be a little cooler up in Mn and I am heading up that way in the morning. Post some good ones for me for when I get back. No T V or puters where I'll be. HH jim tn

I've enjoyed metal detecting since 1971 found a lot of good coin and meet a lot of good people. On the 17 th of April they took me to emergency room with as bad breathing problem after 5 days in ICU they be leave I have Histoplasmois this is caused from spoors that are in the ground caused from bird & bat droppings. Now I am home on oxygen and do not know if I will get to enjoy my hobby again but I seam to be getting better every day and maybe by fall I can crank the old detector up and hunt again.
I will be 72 in a month. WHAT I AM TRYING TO SAY IS GET OUT THERE AND ENJOY YOUR HOBBY YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO PUT IT ON HOLD FOR A TIME.
I now CHECK IN ON FINDMALL all day and appreciate & read ever little article that you people but on the forum. Keep the articles coming.
