How many COMPADRES ??

Ordered mine today.Going to be my go everywhere meteorite machine.ED-180 is where its at,my lobo supertraq has it and i love it.

I have 1 with the small coil and want a 2nd with the large coil. I think found more with the compadre than I did with my vaquero I think because I tune out some stuff on the vaq but the compadre just tears it up and hits everything,,,,,,,,,,,my state of mind when I have my compadre is be ready to dig!

You have the right state of mind. Just dig. You will find a lot of nice things... KEN. Ind

Its funny how "old" technology tends to trump "new" technology.

I honestly think all this new data causes us to dig less and find less good stuff because we rely on faulty information.

I once told a friend, the TID is not telling you what is down there, it is telling you what it thinks is down there.

The deeper the target, typically the less accurate the information.

I just have one, a 5.75 inch Compadre. It's was first detector and is still with me.

People will trade off one of those yellow detectors, but they usually won't part with their Compadre.

I have one

Why is it, no matter what kind of detectors many people have, there is always room for a compadre... KEN. Ind

I bought mine this past winter and have had a blast with it this spring/summer. I'm hoping that since my kids' baseball seasons are winding down I will have more time to detect. I got the smaller disc (5.75") and I'm thinking that my next detector will be a Silver Umax with a 7" coil. Regardless what I decide to go with the Compadre will NOT be sold!

Boy, There sure is a lot of compadres out there.

I am new to the forum. I have the 5.25" model. Got it used and have used it for two years. Don't get to detect as often as I'd like, but who can? Full time job and full time dad of 3! All the same, I've found $28.30 in clad, 3 wheaties (including a 1910), 1 Indian (1903), 1 shield nickel (1873!), and 1 merc (1942). The silver dime was at an angle 6 inches down! I was impressed! Also found a mattock (old type of hoe) at 10" by an old oak tree on part of a pre-Civil War farm (aka my backyard!).

Tesoro Compadre 5.25", Garrett ProPointer, Fiskars digger, cheap plastic trowel, old book bag for gear and finds (works for me!)

It sounds like you are doing good. Them compadres go deeper than some people think. Just go slow and listen for them faint signals. Have fun... KEN. Ind

Do some jaw strengthening and stretching exercises in your downtime.
It will drop so many times when you see what it can do you will need it.
