Garrett AT PRO Waterproof

Waterdog

Well-known member
Can the AT PRO be used for a extended period of time in the water. Would I be able to wade in the water with this machine totally in the water for hours a day ? I am checking this out to see if this is what I think it might be.

Yeah I am guessing the waterproof is just in case you drop it in water.Im taking a gues its not suppose to be used under water for any extended amount of time, like a real underwater machine.

:usaflag:They are saying that it is waterproof down to 10 feet maximum, which means you can hunt underwater until you are blue in the face. But I am guessing that the unit will not withstand water pressure beyond that. I don't know anyone up here who hunts that deep anyways....they would need scuba gear.!

It is a real underwater machine. Otherwise it would be called splash proof like the Fisher CZ6's were.

How many times do I have to post this. The AT is completely waterproof down to a depth of ten feet. The speaker is waterproof. You can hunt a beach then wade right out in the water and continue to hunt.

Yes, but can you, like, get it really wet? I mean, like if I was swimming with it (but I wouldn't swim with it 'cause I can't swim) and it started raining, and it got wet.. would it still work? Huh? Huh? ..Willy.

Imagine that. Man, I'm just having sooo much fun here. Hey, Uncle Willy, you sure you don't wanna join in? ..Willy.

It'll work like a charm. There's a pic somewhere of Steve Moore at Garrett hunting in the water with it and the control box completely submerged. That says it all.

Yeah apparently not Wade. Maybe I should do an infomercial on TV. HAAA. Maybe it's just to difficult to comprehend.

I think we all understand that the Garrett is waterproof to 10 feet, however Waterdogs wanted to know...is it waterproof for an extended period of time. At this point we do know that it's waterproof enough to take a 5 minute photo.

WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS WATER PROOF IS.........

However, could leak if the ambient water pressure is greater then what it would be at ten feet below the surface in the WATER. It's a unit "pressure related", not of time duration.

I hope this helps......... :)
