Does Nokta Makro not honor their warranty?

Bill, I too was under the impression that the warranty was transferrable. I would not have bought used if I had known. I looked at the warranty policy on Notka"s website and see no mention of being transferrable. At least with Fisher we knew the policy. Hopefully someone from Notka will speak up.

    Simplex wish list

Have you watched any of the youtube videos from England? I am thinking of the Ultra, but want to wait to see how they deal with modern trash. From the limited videos, I am not liking the audio. Notka surely is capable of improving the tones.

    Great Morning With the Trac

Mark, I am always trying the latest and greatest, but always come back to a FBS detector. I will use the Etrac as long as my shoulder and elbow hold up. I have tried the harnesses, but absolutely hate them. Your Nox 600 is one of the best coin detectors around, so you should not miss much.

First Impressions with the Xterra Pro

Tim, a question about the 8 inch deep Buffalo nickel. Does the Pro ID it correctly with tones and numbers. I don't know what the correct number would be on the new Minelab scale. I have had many single frequency detectors hit nickels, but not have the correct number or tone. These nickels were...

    Great Morning With the Trac

It is a "vdb", but no S mint mark. I guess I will have to keep trying. At any rate, it is in good condition for the wheats that come out of my soil.

    Whites quantum 2 anyone??

Tim and Mark, I sort of messed this thread up. I should have said I had the Quantum XT with 9.5 inch coil. There was a fellow back then that had a "Quantum Bible". He had loads of hints and tips on how to get the most out of the Quantum. I believe his name was Hill, but that too might be wrong...

    Whites quantum 2 anyone??

I had one around 2000 and really liked it. I preferred it over the XLT. Most people swept it too fast. When you figured out the sweep speed is was the deepest Whites unit in the late 90's.

    Great Morning With the Trac

Last night I layed in bed figuring out where I would hunt this am. I decided on my "old stand bye" spot. This spot hosted a Christmas lighting display that was just taken down. I decided to hunt where the displays stood. In the first hour I found three coins and all were deep wheats(8-10 inches...

    Coinstar finds today....

Felix, you must have used the 6 inch coil to get in close to the reject slot. . I embarrass my wife at the local grocery store coin star. I also check pop machine coin returns. Pay phones use to pay off big, but cell phones eliminated that source. Die hard coin hunters will do just about...

Picked up 1000 wheaties in a bank sack, talk to the old timers at the coffee shop

Nice score. There should be a couple of more valuable ones in the mix. Last winter I was cleaning out the storage cabinets out in my garage and found a quart Ragu Sauce jar crammed full of wheats. I have yet to go through them. I wish it had been a jar of silver, but no such luck.

    Excellent D2 performance!!

Tony, great post. I also believe that the CZ's were as deep as any detector made, even with an 8 inch concentric coil. You made a great point that when coins are 8 inches deep or more, the 8 inch coil is only seeing a inch or so at that depth, making it easy to miss many coins even if...

    Deepest coins or jewelry?

I have routinely been finding 8-9 inch deep wheat pennies at my hard hit spots. Park, recovery 4, iron bias 4, and sensitivity 26. I find more deep nickels with this detector than any detector I have used. I have not used the 6 inch coil yet.

    Wireless Headphones For Etrac

I bought a Z lynk kit and used it for the first time today with my Gray Ghost Platinum headphones. Worked perfectly except for my digging routine. A person has to remember that there is no cord attatched to the detector. Wireless is truly the way to go.

    13 inch Indian penny

Way to go Elmy. I have tried the latest and greatest, but a detector with the Etrac's abilities is hard to set down. Hope you are feeling better. Yesterday and today in northeast Ohio are perfect detecting days. The next month should have some great weather for you.

    Thanks for the input.

    Wireless Headphones For Etrac

I am checking to see if anyone is using wireless headphones with the Etrac. I have been spoiled using them on my other detectors. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

    When it all began 1867-69

Cedar, was Iowa a wrestling powerhouse in 1972? At any rate, it is truly impressive to have a wrestling scholarship to any Big 10 school. One old timer showed me a cigar box full of silver from a local dance hall, skating rink, and ball field that dated to early 1900's. Over the years I have...

    Some finds from yesterday...

Felix, the silver coins are in fantastic condition. Don't give up on that spot!

    Can a detector be supercharged???

Many years ago I sent a Compass Coin Scanner back to the factory have it "juiced up". Again this was done by a factory tech and I was told to expect 1 to 2 inches of additional depth. I can't say I could see any difference, but I sure wish I still had that detector. I think I paid about 90 bucks...

    Loretone Rock Tumbler

Felix, my first three or four years of detecting was all about finding coins. I was a clad hunter. I worked for the local school system and had exclusive access to the fenced and gated football stadium. I can remember days of finding over 150 coins in two hours. I keep journals but was not real...
