Can a detector be supercharged???

Hello everybody! I am wondering about something, I have a MXT pro and my wife has a MXT all pro , the same detectors as far as I can tell. Can a detector be souped up in any way to make it outdoo its old self???

Many years ago I sold a White's Eagle Spectrum to a fellow from Los Alamos that claimed they had a way to "supercharge" the White's detectors. I have no idea if that is really possible with any real world usefulness but think White's would have sent them out the door performing as close to max as possible at least for a novice user. I think Carl Moreland was still working there at the time. Do some research and see if you can contact him and get the straight poop.

Many years ago I sent a Compass Coin Scanner back to the factory have it "juiced up". Again this was done by a factory tech and I was told to expect 1 to 2 inches of additional depth. I can't say I could see any difference, but I sure wish I still had that detector. I think I paid about 90 bucks for the update and part of that was for return shipping.

I appreciate the input, Im going to do some snooping on that subject. I have heard that they can be souped up but have never heard that from someone that knew it first hand

If I'm not mistaken Tom Dankowski upgraded a Fisher 1266 years ago.. He mentioned adding additional Batteries + other and it having lots more depth.

I think the original T2, F75, and Tesoro Tejon were pretty much "supercharged" and were criticized for being too "sparky". Boosting up the power causes tiny objects and mineralization to sound good, which is counterproductive in my opinion. If you supercharge it enough to detect a two foot deep dime, it will be hidden by hundreds of targets that are nearer the surface unless you have no mineralization and a area without any other target in proximity. Plus you would probably need a car battery to power it.
