    Gold ring testing

Just got done testing the Racer on about 50 Gold rings I have found. The lowest TID I got was a 46 on a very small and thin child's gold ring. The highest I got was a 72 on a large class ring. Still quite a ways below the zinc penny 82. I didn't try the silver rings as they almost always come in...

Help! The Coil Tabs or Ears on my 11" Racer Coil Broke Off !

I know there was an issue with the Ears breaking off some of the Racer coils. What do we need to do to get the coil replaced? I was loading mine into the back of my truck for a trip tomorrow and the coil just fell off. Thanks Tom

Initial Review of the Nel Hunter Coil

Received the Nel Hunter coil for my F19 yesterday. I haven't had it in the field yet but this is what I've found so far. The Standard 11" Bi-Axial coil off my Gold Bug Pro weights 16.8 oz. The Nel coil which measures 8.5" x 12.5" weighs 20.4 oz. an increase of 3.6 oz. The Nel came with a coil...

    Dual Frequency on V3i?

You can Ground Balance the BigFoot in 3 frequencies and do it just like you would on any other detector, (at a 45 degree angle). You don't always get the single beeps when doing the GB but it doesn't effect it much anyways as it doesn't get much depth and it's not looking at that much ground due...

    Dual Frequency on V3i?

Sorry about the photo. I don't know how to do that small picture you click on to make it open up larger. Anyone want to help out a computer dummy?

    Dual Frequency on V3i?

This is a photo of pull tabs I detected . I wanted to see how they would respond to the BigFoot using the different frequencies so I set the detector up using 3 frequencies, the 7 kHz, and 22 kHz frequencies and then checked their VDI using an eclipse coil and that's how this chart is set up...

    Dual Frequency on V3i?

On recent drops for coins & jewelry I much prefer using 3 frequencies with the BF. Play with it some. It does this weird thing where it pushes the low conductors way up the vid scale and that makes it easier to develope programs that help to eliminate the tabs while still getting a majority of...

Still waiting on my Ultimate 13" coil from Kellyco

Ordered the Ultimate 13" coil for my Gold Bug Pro on Sept. 2. Kellyco said they were shipping it and then emailed to say it was back ordered. They don't have any idea when they are going to get more only that they have them ordered. If I ever get it, I'll be sure and report how it works for me.

Rob Can you clarify something I think you said please.

Somewhere along the line, White's changed some of the factory programs from 10 to 5. Five filters will usually get a little more depth than 10 but you must slow down your swing speed. I find a filter setting of 5 two slow for some of my coin and jewelry hunting like looking for recent drops in...

    Small coil

The 4X6 is great in trash but I prefer the Eclipse 5.3. Almost as good in the trash but gets better depth. For a "mostly Relic" hunter, I'd go with the 5.3.

    Hunting style question

I have a lot of programs designed around the coil I'm going to use. Take a trashy park for instance. I may want to use the BigFoot coil and just hunt for quarters for some quick bucks or maybe use the 4X6 to pick some goodies from among the trash. P.S. I'm in Mesa

    Headphones

And that's the reason that I use light weight, wired headphones, even though I also have the White's wireless for my V3i. I like the Koss KTX-1. They have a 6' cord with the 1/4" plug so you don't need an adapter.

The 5.3 Eclipse on the V3i

I use the 5.3 but it doesn't have to be V rated. V rated only comes into play if using TX boost and I'd guess 90% of the folks never use TX boost or don't use it 90% of the time. OK, so now all you TX boost users can come on and say "I use TX boost all the time" Well now you don't have too, I...
