Small coil

Hello, I just got permission to hunt a couple homesites that date around 1890ish or a little later, I am sure these are virgin ground, and the first outing with my vx3 and eclipse 950 says a lot of trash. My small coil question is, can anyone recommend a small coil for a trashy area? I don't own a small coil as I am primarily a relic hunter that have larger coils on my detectors. Any helpful advice for small coils for trashy areas is certainly appreciated. This small coil help request is for the vx3.

For heavy trash sites the 4X6 Shooter is hard to beat. It gets between the trash and gives effective depth. I've used it relic hunting too for those hard to get to places. I have a friend that hunts trashy vacant lots with his VX3 and I've never seen him use any other coil.

The 4X6 is great in trash but I prefer the Eclipse 5.3. Almost as good in the trash but gets better depth. For a "mostly Relic" hunter, I'd go with the 5.3.

When my hunting required a small coil, I liked the 5.3 myself.

Thanks Rob(IL) and MANDAD76, I think the Eclipse 5.3 is what i am going to get. It seems to be the response favorite. I Certainly appreciate Blind Squirrels response also about the 4x6 shooter coil. Heck, if i can afford 4x6 shooter coil a little later, and these trashy sites are still available to me, i may buy it also just to get my own comparisons. Again, Thanks to you guys for responding.
