Who's still swinging the original deus and orx?

Good trade up, D2 has to be the most versatile detector on the market and you can always create a program to mimic your favorite ORX setup (y)

Who's still swinging the original deus and orx?

Still love'n the ORX and the HF coil. I did get to put about 50-60 hours on the D 2 but it didn't make me want to buy one, not yet anyway ;).

Ornament that was attached to colonial leather goods, straps, horse tack etc.

    Which is the better coil

I agree with marcomo. Over the years the 5x8" on the AT Gold has performed really well. My buddies Pro was down for repairs and borrowed my Gold, he was shocked how smooth it ran, as well as the depth it achieved considering its smaller size compared to the stock on the Pro.

    Whites quantum 2 anyone??

Nice little "beep dig" detector but certainly no XLT, more like its lil brother. Operates on just one frequency 6.59hz, which can be slightly altered by changing Transmit freq 1-25hz for interference from other detectors close by or emi. Can't go wrong with an ole school Whites.

    Got my first buckel

1851 Officers plate with wide tongue, and see gold gilt and the silver wreath (often missing) in background of 3rd pic on original post. The other eagle piece might be remnants of a powder flask.

What type of bullets might these be?

No Gardners or Ring tails here, all 58cal, some of which do appear field cast and nipped.

What kind of buckle is this?

Congrats on the killer plate ! Confederate Mississippi plate and worth much much more than $394, more like $10,000.

    Unmarked Oval Plate

Virginia produced unmarked "sheet brass buckles ", the clipped corner and oval, in order to fill the need of many plates quickly in the Civil War. Your friends looks right for the period considering the rear attachments were soft soldered like the Va variants.

    Old house site find today...

Great button Crawford !! Remember reading that this variant was found on one of Lee's jackets.

big coil for gpx 4500 and battery

15'" DD is the way to go for your type of relics, whether you choose Minelab's Commander (my preference), or Detech' coils, both perform very well on all target sizes ;)

Only found 3 things this trip

Nice button, nice bullet and a great plate, those 3 have it covered.

    Rumors of new machines.

Minelab's Manticore has of lot of its features, they're getting close. Agree, they could easily be the competition if they brought one to the field with todays frequency preferences and simultaneous operation. I'm trying to wait.
