Who is going to buy an Equinox anymore

Thats a great point but unfortunately depends in the location. As i have read many people say the find’s especially in beaches, parks etc is getting to be slim pickings. People who live and hunt near old historic areas with alot of high traffic areas are likely to find alot more and quicker
That’s why we need to find new areas I found a spot along a river that was a very old yacht club we have found over 100 silvers one KG2 lots of musket balls and modern coins.
It was very obvious that this spot had never been detected coins were on the surface at low tide it’s been an incredible spot what I’m getting at is go look for old swimming areas in rivers streams you will be surprised! Here’s a couple of hunts l from one area .one barber quarter was laying between to rocks!

In the last 10 years i have found 2 or 3 virgin detecting sites , one field gave me 400 Pounds in lost coinage plus silver jewels. The other site was a footpath loaded with silver coins every where. I always get the cupro nickels
and gold rings that the amateurs walk over. One swimming spot gave up a few gold and silver rings plus about £150 in modern money. Picked the swimming spot totally clean.:)

Minelab makes good machines... I've owned and ran everything from the Xterra 705 to the equinox 800, all fbs and fbs2.. I'm not a minelab fanboy ,or a fanboy of any company. But the machines work, and work well
Many of my Gold Ring Finds were found with The Minelab explorer 2 and SE. I have found gold rings with XP DEUS 1 and C-Scope too. I never have found to date a single gold ring or silver ring with the legend.
Just bad luck probably.

I agree just very overpriced imo

That I do agree on,they are not priced for the average working guy, more for the retired guys.. Like the old saying goes, no senior citizen discounts, you've had twice as long to get the money.lol
I've watched 2 “live“ streams in the last couple of days where the panel participants discuss the features and testing of the new Manticore and the 700/900 machines. Good stuff. The “live” streams are still up on YT. You know where to look.
During both live streams the panel participants strongly stated that if you are paying MSRP for a detector you are overpaying by hundreds of dollars. The host of the most recent live stream is a dealer. He said he can't violate the MAP restriction Minelab puts on dealers, but said “call me, I'll give you a good deal”. They said call any large dealer. So there it is. Sort of a slap for us veterans who thought the 15% veterans discount was something of a reward for our service. Turns out all you need to do ask and once the shine has worn off these new products in the early release days you'll likely save some bucks. What's the rush to get serial number 1 anyway when your Nox is still kicking butt in the parks and fields. JMHO.

Just ask huh?
So who do you ask and how much off can you get on a Nox?
Hundreds of dollars, like $200,$300 off, thats the standard 15%off.

There will always be a better machine but it doesn't matter that much finding a good place means a whole lot more . Any of the later offerings will do fine. After going over an encampment I found maybe 15 percent more with the 800 over my goldbug. Probably missed the sweep before. If a went over again might find another 5 percent. I bought the 800 for going to the beach. That's it. It is deeper than gold bug and I am sure the Manticore will be abit deeper than the 800 but not by much maybe . Where I hunt you hit a nasty clay layer and that is about it. 8 inches is about it and then a thick Grey clay ,nothing sinks bellow it. If you go to dankowski's detector forum he rates findings down to the 10 of an inch. For me not that big of a deal. I love the hobby and will keep digging. For 1500 bucks an inch or two at most is not worth the money. Gold mode in the 800 is pretty Stought. Alot of folks have complained about EMI with the 800 I have never experienced audible EMI, could be some silent not sure. Best of luck to all

As someone noted our soil is like nasa toms and the detectors are maxed out even the MC wont go much deeper, but in bad ground it will. So definitely not worth it to me for an extra 1/2 inch. For someone with bad ground where they will get 1 or 2 more inches possibly it probably would be worth it.
So the soil you hunt in makes a difference as well

But when a new detector comes out not sure on how much “off” on the price we can get because of demand

I agree.
With demand so high, the waiting list's, and all the people wanting it RIGHT NOW, a dealer would be crazy to offer a discount on the Manticore and new Equinox's.
Scalpers are selling them for a premium.

Yep I figure the money I sell my 800 for will go towards my Manticore so that will be my discount It's long since more than paid for itself!

15% off $1099 is $165 in round numbers, not $200 - $300. Who do you ask? “Call any large dealer”. This is common sense. Of course no dealer is going to give big discounts when folks are lining up with cash to buy the newest dream machine. More common sense. Give it 6 months or so and give it a shot with the large dealers. You won't see discounted prices advertised because they can't. CALL the large dealers to get your best price.

So with the release of a 700 and 900 is
anyone going to buy a 600 and 800 anymore? Especially considering the leak and coil ears issues.
I would imagine they are going to have to discount them pretty low as the market will be flooded with ML detectors.
Actually a good thing as their prices are a bit too high anyways.
I don’t think anyone will argue a price drop.
Those that already have one can get a spare if they don’t upgrade
As far as new ones, I’m sure sales will drop, but in the used market, a person on a limited budget will be able to get a great deal on a great detector that he otherwise may not be able to afford… just because three new detectors have come out does not mean the 600 it 800 are worthless now.
