What happened to the Nokta Impact Thread

Not trying to start any problems. I did save this screenshot when I discovered it the other day.
I have no problem if the moderators feel the need to delete it as this is their site.
I wasn't the one who originally put it out on the net and it is not our fault ( the customers) if someone in retail made a mistake. I just see that this is a hot topic and I wanted to throw my 2 cents in

Well, I'm no electronic engineer or detector designer, but I do know a bit about software.
It sounds to me like all the extra features in the Impact could be added to the Racer
via a software upgrade. Maybe a future Racer (near future, I would hope) will contain
these updates and others, too. Maybe a "Version 2 Racer" will be an available upgrade.

Just a thought.

The pc board is probably the same but a different LCD needed to allow access to the new fields/functions along with the new FW....btw, EE CalPoly('80), FW/SW senior engineer now retired (apple alumni among others), but I really don't know that much....I've been having a lot of fun after taking up the hobby....cheers.

I assumed the menu options were displayed by software, not burned into the LCD
or fixed into a hardware template over the LCD.
(I haven't actually seen a Racer yet; mine is on order.)

I was figuring that the extra options could simply be added to the software-controlled
menu list. I'm surprised if that is not the case. It would seem the flexibility of controlling
it by software would be the obvious better choice. But maybe other design tradeoffs
overruled that. It would have been fascinating to listen to the design meetings
(if I spoke Turkish).

so I take it Kelly & co have taken the impact off their site?

the whole thing has become a bit unprofessional for me, so now its a wait and see detector for me.

let the bugs get sorted and seems there maybe a few in some areas of how this has been handled

guess they will learn from the whole experience  or its a ploy to get people talking and it has done that, so

create drama and any ad's a good one right, some will buy of the back of the drama and others will sit back and watch, going to watch.

not like I need one :poke:

Honestly to me they look to be the same machine just under a different label. Kind of like what FT does. Iron Audio can simple mean it gives a low tone for iron. And the Notch thing, It's not the first ime I've seen KC's marketing and website misinterpret a detectors features. All this freaking out and it could just be the same machine with different stickers. All I see is a lot of guessing and no facts to back it up yet.

I think its because the only link left is to their MOBILE site. The link for their FULL site disappeared. I am assuming the mobile link just hasnt been addressed to them from Nokta yet..

I talk to Kellyco management around 11am today, the ad was pulled from Kellyco's website at Dilek of Nokta's request. It was a misunderstand between Dilek and Kellyco on when they could start advertising the Impact....

Google's search engine has it stored so you can still see ad even though it was pulled off Kellyco website..

Thanks for that info treasure hunter.------Did they say when (approximate date) the Impact would be released for sale?
