Waterproof Connectors

Jim,
You are correct, I didn't study the invoice very well, the quantities are listed for two for sockets and plugs. Even cheaper, I like that.

otlew,
Correct me if I'm wrong , but if you look at Jim's paperwork , it apears to me as if he has not one, but two complete sets of male and femaie connectors .....So you could have a complete 1/2 a setup for each coil ..... so you're looking at more like $13 - $14 for each coil .....Do you see what I'm saying ? .....Check the paperwork ...Jim

I did Buy extra because of the unknown do not need stress relief 4.10
do not need gland packs they come with body 1.73
only needed 1 insert and 1 body for detector 8.85
4.85 + -
I don't recall witch insert goes with witch body so this is a guess 19.50 so to connect 2 coils to my excal my min. cost would
have been about 35, 36$

Jim

Jim,
Thanks for the clarification and the measurement ......I like those strain reliefs ....I trtied to find them on the Bulgin site and did not see them .....Did you order from a catalog or something ? .....That's a really pro looking connector ....I'm wondering if the 400 series ( the one smaller yet than the mini bucaneer ) would work ? ........Thanks so much for posting all these pic's and the info ....It's give me plenty of insight as to what direction I'm gonna go with my next endevor .....Jim

I am going to get some 400s for my head phones
I will pm you when I get them finished

Jim

Jim
Yeah, please do ....I'd like to see the size of them and hear a little report on how they work out for you , and how easy they were to work on ..... Maybe the 400's will work for coil applications too !!.....?????.......Thanks again .....Jim

Are the mini bucaneers the way to go?

I would like to swap out the 8" with a 10" that I have on occasion. Maybe a WOT in the future:)

Looks like Jim in MA has a nice setup.

I only plan on hunting waist deep........

Where do you order these from?

Thanks 7 HH!

No mini 400's don't work on the coil....but they do work for the headphones......I think Jim in Maine used the larger 900 series, which seemed to work for him...You can get them at digikey.com..punch in bulgin
IP67 or 68...need anymore help just post or Pm...joe

I was wrong, Jim had posted the mini's do work, I was thinking mini 400's..but the two are different....here is his list and the link to Mouser, let us know how they work, and cut your wires where if you need to put it back to hardwire we can help...

Jim,

Thanks for posting. OBN is helping me out as well on this.

I ant to connect my spare 10 " to my exiting hardwired 8".

After looking at your posts, I assume that I will need the following:

167-SA3242 Female 4 pin connector Qty 1 to be installed at control pod

http://www.mouser.com/catalog/catalogusd/645/1501.pdf

157-PX0801 In line connector body Qty 1 to be installed at control pod

177-SA3241 Male 4 pin insert Qty 2 to be installed on coil cable

157-PX0800 Connector body Qty 2 to be installed on coil cable

As per your previous post, the strains and gland seals come with the cable and are not need, correct?

Thanks for the info!

Does it matter which way the bodies are installed?

Should the nut be on the detector end or the coil end?
