My recent visit to Virginia Beach I came across Max and some of the VB crew

Cool and impressive how that guy NEVER bends down. Scoops and retrieves without ever once getting down on knee!

Thanks for the video, just watching you learn so much. The M lab settings were great to see, Gerry

Max is a Master at recover time...Never swithchs to Pinpoint to PP, stays in Disc the whole time. And Very Smooth and effecent with the scoop..A Pro for sure in all ways, loaned out his Best scoop that week and a battery that day to fellow hunters that were in need! Learned alot from the GuyObn

Smooth moves Max!

Great video, I don't think it can be done much better than that!

HH Steve

I really enjoyed watching that...................SUPERB OBN :clapping: I am glad you got my wife walking by:surprised:

Exellent video OBN! I learned so much just from watching Maxs' technique. He's like a metal detecting black belt....precise control of both scoop and coil. Thanks for sharing both of you guys!

Thanks OldBeechNut, I have learned a lot from all your videos. They just keep getting better and better!

Steve

The women at 5:41 even made the master look up. Looks like he lost some of his "coil control" heehee. Yeah!

Nice video OBN !! It's refreshing to see a trend in videos on here that demonstrate tactics, techniques, and conditions to look for when out hunting the beach and surf......as much as I enjoy seeing folks finds....I truely believe that the less experienced folks that read these posts on here benefit from being able to watch how some of the guys actually do it when out there swinging their detectors. So once again....Thank You OBN you are performing a valuable service for free for alot of people out there.....Kudos to you!!.....Brian

Great video and nice techniques. However I am disappointed to see that you never saw any of the holes that were dug on the beach or wet sand filled back in. I've talked to other hunters who work the beach and don't fill their holes and say "the tide will fill it back again". This may be true but the hours it takes for the tide to come back in some small child or even adult could be running along the beach and hit one of your holes and twist or break an ankle or leg, then how would you feel?

People that I speak to that continuously don't fill their holes don't like me too much because I then talk to a lifeguard and explain to them what's going on and how people like that are creating problems for our hobby.

No matter where I work the beach I always fill my holes. It's no different than working a park or anywhere else in the dirt. It's been preached all over these forums that if you dig the hole then you are responsible to fill it back in again.

I know someone is going to say "what about all those kids who dig holes to China and leave them like that". On the beaches I go to the lifeguards keep an eye on that kind of digging and tell the people that it's their responsibility to be sure the hole is filled before they leave the beach. In a few cases I've seen the lifeguards actually stop people from digging because the hole was getting just too large, and made them fill it back in again.
