Video ...Va Beach Max spinning down the lane..

You know I saw that and wondered about it too.

G However I am disappointed to see that you never saw any of the holes that were dug on the beach or wet sand filled back in. I've talked to other hunters who work the beach and don't fill their holes and say "the tide will fill it back again". This may be true but the hours it takes for the tide to come back in some small child or even adult could be running along the beach and hit one of your holes and twist or break an ankle or leg, then how would you feel?

Better than watching a movie. Wish you had the tector audio with the digging. Nice 'scenery' there on the beach. The older you get the easier it is to concentrate on the tecting, right? Jim

That's too bad. Maybe when someone breaks a leg and decideds to sue then they'll pay more attention. It's just like that old saying of "they never put up a stop sign at a bad intersection until after someone gets killed".

about the holes the kids dig and some are even bigger than the one pictured and they all are right there in the damp sand zone where everyone likes to walk.

now as far as me coving my holes, i hope u could see from the video where i pushed the sand from the sides into the holes.................i do not actually cover the hold up completely, just fill it in from the sides.

What you don't see in this Video is that Max did fill in all of the Larger holes and the smaller holes he side steps in the damp sand {collapses the walls to were they are safe.} Once he had got the target I would turn the camera off to conserve the Battery, I followed him around for almost 3 hours to get this video, I feel Max never left any hole's that were unsafe..And really......... I could go on and on about this ...... but What I saw that day was more then the Video shows,......... Va Beach Max is a ambassador for this hobby on this Beach, The Lifeguards, His fellow hunters, The People Love Him....And that is why I did this Video of this legend

And Grumpyoldman...Hang in there it's coming..the Pirate was wearing the head cam in VB

Thanks I knew there had to be a good explanation!

As an outsider can I say something. First off Max saved my holiday......period If I never got to detect I would have been gutted I allready had a cock up with getting my detector due to paypal. Max gave a total stranger his scoop........enough said!

As for the holes I am all for filling holes here in Scotland the tide goes out for hours and the hole stays a hole if not filled in!!.......................but NOT on VA beach I have detected nearly 23 years and I could not beleive the speed the sand filles the holes on that beach up. The tide never goes out if so hardly what i am used to like 300 yards. It fills up instantly so maybe its a bit hard on Max. If it was our beaches that take forever to fill up I would agree with you but definatly NOT VB.

I think it is down to user experience on that particular beach that its just a waste of good detecting energy in that hot weather.

People are quick to criticize but know nothing about the beach they are talking about. When detecting the beach here the holes fill in within seconds of digging them. Flat beach, strong tides.....

I realize that you want to save your batteries, but you could have shown one or two holes being filled. In addition, since you have titlilng through out the video just add that all the holes have been filled after the digging. Other than that it's a great video and I'm look forward to seeing more in the future. :clapping:

Lesson learned. Going to Get a Couple extra Batteries, I do have a couple more Videos lined up so I have learned alot from this one , not only in the making but from maxs style of hunting, feed back from the forums , editing & using the software , and From all of this I hope to improve on the future ones.
Thanks Obn

OldBeechNut, thanks a lot!

Best,

Finally watched the video. Nice.
The deep one reminded me of a target I left in the sand at Ocean City, MD. I had my dry sand scoop with me and was hunting the wet sand. The plan was to hit the dry sand first then go back and change equipment for the wet, but the wet area kept calling me. Hole kept collapsing and I was bending the scoop so I left the target. Car with the water scoop was about half a mile away. Never did get back to look for that target again. I headed up the other way with the wet gear once switched gear.
