:usaflag:Ya know...for all the inquiring I did about the new 350 coil..I nearly forgot about the awesome unit that I already own. Ace 250...stock coil..sensitivity at 4 bars...set in Custom mode with everything notched out below a dime. Got a good signal bouncing between 50 cents & dollar at 6 inches.. and out popped this beauty....same city park a block from my house where I found the '27 Peace dollar in April. Good times bouys !!

Also...when I saw the thick edge of that coin and the word "dollar" on it, I ran home and grabbed my IPod, which has a video camera. Made my first dig video with the '52-D Franklin half. Hope to get it up on here as soon as I figure out how. Took these pic's when my wife finally came home with the camera.

Sweeeeeet! Never found a Franklin Half. Not yet anyway. Good day!

Nice coin! Did you notch out all below dime because you were sick of pull tabs?[/quote

:usaflag:Sorry if this is a bit long-winded....More because there are a lot of memorial cents lying around this place. I love to find wheat cents, but once in a while I like to detect without all the noise associated with my usual setting, which is basically All-Metal mode with the first two iron targets notched out. This park is also tough to hunt because anytime someone left beer or soda cans, the person(s) who cut the grass would just run them over instead of picking them up. So there are also 6 billion dime and quarter sized aluminum bits everywhere. I thought I could work around that with my Sniper coil, but this place has about six inches of new fill on top of the original lot. Many, many moons ago,1910-1940, there was a garage with a dance hall on the 2nd floor on this spot and then later from about 1940-1990 it was where the town held it's annual carnival/fair. After they relocated the fair down the road they brought in fill, planted a few trees and made it a park. So in short..lol...everything good is at least 6+ inches down. I think if I had a larger coil (10X14) I coud find more silver, but I would also be contending with all the junk. So in that respect I got very lucky finding that half. Long-winded post, but educational I hope..
