To all the people not getting a CTX 3030

Why do you feel the need to troll here, point out all the features you hate, reasons why its over priced, tell us how you think the GPS is useless, how this new POS is too heavy, and tell us how your safari or what ever is just as good and your are keeping it...

Do you this in all of the other forums for those detectors you are not buying either ??

Just curious...

Been wondering the same thing Paul.----Maybe the need for attention?----Or just plain trying to stir up a ruckus---I dunno.

I feel like a vampire because I've been biting my tongue over and over !!!

but glad to see I'm not the only one feeling this frustration...

I'm completely with you Paul, and I've lashed out at a few of these people but I don't spend too much time on them anymore. It's exactly what they want. Either way, you are not alone and you surely aren't the only person tired of coming across these people's posts. My theory, these people can't have these things and so they try to spoil it for us that can. Their hate makes me that much more excited about getting my CTX as they are clearly VERY envious of those that are getting them. HH -Marc

I couldn't agree more I really , truly and deeply hope minelab and ALL other mfg of detectors are reading the posts, cause I cannot see how some of these guys are not already on payroll for one of them. Obviously guys like Bruce Candy could study under some of our armchair experts. Like I have posted in several threads " It is time to shut up and buy it, try it or wait to see what those of us who are buying it find. Please give the trash a rest. I think asking questions is great, it helps us learn but getting an answer that is the best a person can give, then to turn around and not only beat the dead horse but bury it, dig it up and beat it again is just plain nuts." Just wanted to say it agin for naysayers when they stop by this thread LOL! I think some of these clowns just want to cause peoblems and the rest just are trying to justify to themselves why this cannot be better then thier ACME super machine. To the haters and ACME owners if your machine is already that amazing or you superhero detecting skills that refined; Why waste your time here hating? If you cannot stomach the price or do not like it; last I checked it was still legal to pass and not buy one. Either way zip it cause many of us are sick of the BS! :argue:

I'm not getting a CTX3030 and I don't bash it, are you just trying to start trouble? I just can't afford to get one, you guys that are getting one, good for you, now go out and enjoy it and as far as trolling, if the moderator doesn't want anyone trolling then just shut things down because it's just human nature to do so just like it's your human nature to want to start trouble. I come in here to see what finds the people with the machines are finding, why, because it's human nature........

Maybe you have a bad title!!!
I know there are trolls out there but maybe the title should have been to all the the people bashing the Ctx.
Some of us not getting one are just here to do research and see if its something we want to start saving for.
Not trying to argue against your opinions as I agree just didnt like being included with that crowd.
Its sad people cannot debate the value of a new product in a constructive manner!!!

Paul

I concur, but this doesn't narrow down to everyone that is not purchasing a CTX3030. It is to the actual negative posts that just stir BS up.

I think it basically boils down to jealousy and envy and as the bible speaks of coveting, but I'm really not sure. My grandmother use to always say don't wish for something someone else has unless you wish they had a better one.

Naturally people are going to have questions, concerns and doubt especially when they have not even used one and a price tag of $$$$$, you know the price.

I have a problem with that though, because we have a very patient and gracious tester (Randy Horton) that has bent over backwards to help anyone and everyone with every question and concern imaginable.

No matter what make or model machine any of us use, it boils down to the enjoyment that detecting brings us. Sometimes its such a peaceful serenity to be out in the fresh air away from the phone, TV and all the hurdles of life and waiting for that distinctive sound. Whether it be that high pitch tone of a silver coin the E-Trac makes or walking the beach awaiting the lower smooth tone of a gold ring the Excalibur reports it doesn't get any better than that.

I have made my purchase and it is paid in full, I expect it will do everything it is designed to do and look forward in using it.

What I don't want to hear is BS troll posts of why the machine is a piece of overpriced junk. If someone is not interested in the machine then what are they doing on the CTX forum? Go get your self a coat hanger and make a divining rod and get back to basics then.

I'd be lying if I said it hasn't been frustrating at times. From the time the forum first opened, I've made every effort to answer questions sincerely. But as you may have noticed, not all the questions have been sincere. What has evolved over the past couple weeks is the beginnings of a forum that is actually working as it should. Folks finally realized no one on here can control the roll out schedule or the issues regarding pricing. I'll risk jinxing it and say, for the most part, the nay-sayers are keeping quiet. Either they are embarrassed because the "uninformed speculation" that they were posting has since been sanitized by the light of day. Or they were simply reading more than they could digest. Regardless, I think it is getting to the point where the forum has ownership. And that ownership is YOU! Those of you who have stuck with us during the past couple weeks....... I appreciate it. As I've said all along, there ain't nothing in this for me but the satisfaction of helping someone better understand the CTX 3030 functionality. It has been tiring and trying. But this forum will become stronger each day, because of those who are willing to think outside the box and challenge the uninformed. Thanks again. HH Randy

P.S. As you all become more familiar with the CTX 3030, and had some "hands on" experience, we can go back through the posts and see how silly some of the comments actually were. Should be the makings of a good time!

Just curious...

If you remember, it was pretty much the same way when the E-Trac came out.........People hated the pattern change from the vertical lazy S to straight across the screen, the machine wasn't any better, just fancy BS to raise the price, and on and on.................Go to the E-Trac forum now, and it doesn't seem to have the whiners, just posts of really good finds, and new comers excited about the new/used E-Trac they just purchased....Soooo..... maybe after a while this forum will calm down, and we will see the Good side of things regarding the posts..........I certainly hope so......5 days and counting for my new machine. I'm sure it will do way more than I will be able to make it do, but had to have it anyway.........

We all have your back Digger:ninja: :ninja: :ninja:

There are some people who post their bashing on the CTX:nono:, I don't know how you can make assumptions from just reading a pamphlet. All the bashing about the screen glare, weight, features etc, have been contradicted by actual people who have used the machine, even 1 person who had back surgery. Only 1 person can defend them-self here who has actual hands on experience. If you read Randy's experience so far with the machine by reading his posts as well as other contributors, all the misnomers out there can be put to rest. You are not going to get everything you want in a detector, but you can get close. Randy has had 2 years in helping develop this machine from the beginning with his input with Minelab, the CTX is here like it or not. He takes his personal time to "HELP YOU" understand this new machine. Many of us here who have been here from Day 1, would pay to receive what Randy detailed in his posts. For some, it justified your purchase order, others, it put the CTX on the wish list

I don't have a problem with seeing members questions or concerns about the CTX, but to come out with "Guns A Blazing" how this CTX feature is junk or its a waste is ludicrous. When YOU get the chance to use the CTX for yourself, and can back up your concern with your own field experience, then that's when you can be taken seriously.

GRUMPY?? WHY YES I Am GRUMPY. MY Frustration here has been with Minelabs Marketing in advance of the the release of this detector.I am not a marketing consultant so My thoughts may or may not have any validity(That's a College Word by the way) :bouncy: And Yes I am going to get one.My frustration sometimes over rules my mouth and dumb things come out. This machine seems to be a leap in tec.so I'm betting that it will prove to be a winner.I also know as I get older I have a harder time understanding all the bells and whistles. So Don"t beat me when I ask dumb questions. And Give the moderators the patience to let me ask. Grumpy (Well maybe Not Quite So Grumpy Anymore)

Paul,

I've been involved in prototype testing with a number of manufacturers over the years, most recently the Etrac (Andy Sabisch & I were the only two testers in the United States). All you have to do is go back in the archives to see the firestorm that was ignited when that machine came out, before anyone even used one. The flaming by many Explorer users (and others) at the time was outright embarrassing.

So what you are seeing with the CTX 3030 is to be expected. And it will continue well after the machine is out in the field, whether it is successful or not. The haters/losers who post the negative b.s. are just an unfortunate part of the forum environment.

Personally, I would resist the urge that we all have to do what you did with your post, which is to tell them essentially to knock it off. It doesn't work. Leave the policing to the forum moderators; posts that scold haters just become more clutter and take away from what we really want to hear, which is how the new detector works and what people are finding with it.

Just my 2 cents worth.

I understand what you were trying to say Paul, I will not be getting one right away...just got to figure out how to pay for it! :) When you live on a fixed income...and it is called fixed income because it needs a lotta fixing... you have to plan out how and when to spend any discretionary dollars....although a new detector should not fall under that category...that's more like a second dress for the wife, milk for the kids...you know unimportant things that deprive us of the new detector that we desperately need!

I appreciate all the fine posts here and the great work Digger is doing, I have been downloading many of the posts and building a CTX book just like I did for the E-Trac...which is two very LARGE binders by now. So when that day comes I will have some knowledge and reference stuff already.

Once i get one in my hands to see what it is all about and what I will need to do. Until then I downloaded the owner manual (71 Pages) and reading and rereading it to get the idea of what it can do. It seems to have a lot of things this new Minelab can do.
I feel Randy has went be on his call of duty on this detector answering questions and trying to help others. I don't know where he finds the time to do all this only to have so many that want to pick it apart. This detectors is probably not for everyone as none are, but for us that want the best we like to hear what this detector can do. Has Minelab ever made a detector that was bad?? Do you think they will let us down with something that is not the very best?? From what I have read on these forums we will have the very best if you want to spend the time to use and understand it and not the best if you spend your time picking it apart and not even using it. I see on the Sovereign forum where some spend all day posting on air test and what they have read and don't spend time out actually using it and learning what it can do.

I am sure i will have questions, but i want to get one in my hands and use it first, then ask questions.

Thanks Randy and others that are trying to give us great information.

Curious to what this is? The frustration that is. I see this mentioned by the angry here and on other forums and can't figure it out. Why a release of a new product into the market would get you upset or frustrated???

I agree my title was bad... My post was directed at the people that are NOT trying to figure out if this 3030 is for them...Its for the posts and peeps that seem to be getting checks from other the other companies... or have made up their minds this is not for them but decided to stick around and get their 2 cents in on ever other post as to why they are not buying one... or tell us how useless this and that is...

I have ZERO issue with discussion, healthy debate or back and forth... but YOUR personal reasons for not getting one won't help most people... You don't know how usefull or useless the GPS is (Because we might use it, not use it, or use it differently than you...), you CAN'T tell me if it's to heavy for me... etc....

and not I was not around for the E-Trac roll out... I was swinging a bounty hunter then (I had just started in this hobby)...

seems like everyone is on edge. why? because its been a lot of talk and no action  everyone who is getting one hasn't got it yet so well if like me you have sent the money off to your dealer its hurry up time Christmas can not come fast enough, pretty simple really.

i don't see the point of having a forum if not for discussion what else is it for ? just because someone doesn't agree with you or me doesn't make them a troll what ever that is just means they disagree with you or me or who ever now if that's not what forums are for then why have them ?

anyway hurry up 28 day and the place might settle a bit or maybe it will be even more fun :clapping:
