Heavy Equipment Operator
I drove a tractor. I have pushed, hauled, dumped, dug and loaded dirt for almost 50 years. That's mega tons of dirt, and mostly in and around Los Angeles.
Since I have started MDing nine months ago , I wonder how many silver coins I have dug up and pushed around. About 20 years ago while digging, I found my one and only coin while operating heavy equipment. I was about 2 feet deep, and I spotted a round circle in the dirt. So I climbed off the Cat Tractor, and picked it up. It was a V nickel. Coins back then didn't mean much to me, and now I have no idea where that coin is. I am retired now, and nine months ago, traded my fishing rod for a MD. When I was a kid, I had a paper route, and my customers would pay me mostly in change. I can still remember, all those Liberty Walking, and Ben Franklin half dollars, and Standing Liberty quarters, and Mercury Dimes, and wheat pennies, and I even remember seeing steel pennies. I am 67 yo, and luckily in good shape, and not working, so I can, and often do, get out and MD. So far, I have found one silver quarter, 8 silver dimes, one war nickel, maybe 50 wheat pennies, two gold rings, 12 or 15 silver rings, and ten thousand chuck e cheese tokens. Well, maybe not that many?
