The meaning of "Official".

Has anyone here owned a Sony product? Walkman, Discman, cheap $20.00 headphones. How about a VHS player, DVD player, Blueray player? Have you answered yes yet? How about the secondary PCB's inside the computer you're currently using to badmouth technology companies. Have you ever sat on a discussion panel to change the way Sony does business? Are you starting to change your answers to "NO's"? Mark the calendar folks, no other company, I mean none, will give you, the customer, a personal response. Want to know why? Maybe you already do, deep down in your heart. They don't care what you think. They don't want to care. Who on this forum has worked for a global corporation? Demographic charts, test panel groups, extended marketing strategies. These are what matters to a bottom line, not your opinion. So you believe we made a mistake asking you what you want? REALLY? Everyone here came up their own timeline for development because we didn't give you one. Your expectations don't make a product out of thin air. If this were the case we'd all be driving flying cars and living like the Jettsons. This is not reality. And as far as the comment about White's development, I implore you to do your homework. White's developed detectors based solely on an engineer's opinion, not a customer's. If you find this post defensive, or offensive, just know I love what I do. I believe in this company and everything it stands for. Has anyone here stood up for something they believe in or just complained about what others are NOT doing? Does anyone petition the other detector manufactures to release a product on their own personal timeline? Take a stand, and know I won't back down either. We should encourage lively debates on the pros and cons of this industry and hobby. Not just demand Sony has to hurry up with that JetCar 2000 I've been waiting for.

Makro?? Listening and responding at unheard of speed to the medal detecting community.
Fantastic detectors too

Take your time. Quality can't be rushed. I just don't get all the hype over a new machine. Sure you can pop out a new model every 6 months but is it really New? Or is it just reboxed to look fancier?

bet everyone having a whinge will be the 1st to buy a new machine

but I don't think going on the offensive is productive, just puts people off.

something like "yes there is a new machine in production we have done some testing and its closer to a production run and we hope all our loyal Tesoro users and fans can remain stoic despite your enthusiasm to acquire this new machine. we want it just right before we release it in to your trusting hands, so please be as patient as you can be in this trying time, we also understand your frustration and understand how you feel, but we are here in Prescott doing or best work ever to get you our loyal customers a machine we will both be proud to call a Tesoro."

by the way my services are available for media releases :cheekkiss:

Did not Tesoro mention the proposed the original release time, then advanced it to another time. And now no definite release date?
Think this is what is getting everyone hot and bothered.

Maybe Tesoro doesn't care what the customer wants, oh well too bad. That's the problem with companies................shove down our throats a
dozen models to choose from that are basically the same, none that really fit the bill. But, customers have suggested features they would like to see in one machine
based on hunting experience. That could be Tesoros trump card. Hell, no, we don't listen to customer wants. bad approach since you guys started the ball that sounded like you guys were going to be media,
customer friendly. Sounds like the only friendly response you get from Tesoro is when you call Rusty, beyond him, wonder what kind of attitudes live within the company. Sorry but, this is only from what I see looking in from the outside. And still you guys don't update your website with news releases or etc. like other companies do with online newsletters.....etc. Guys want to read about their favorite detectors and who is finding what....sorry Tesoro public relations suck. You guys opened the door to what's happening inside Tesoro now slamming it shut and telling us to go away.

Yup, like one of the other forum members suggested, take a look at Makro/Notka. They opened the door and are trying to give their customers what they want, and implementing improvements etc.
As much as I love Tesoros and using them, think Tesoro is getting a bad attitude, that could start to be a real turn-off.

I think that not only was the initial build up to the new machine backfired but i also think the MD's latest post could also backfire as well,of course as the MD of the comapny he basically can call all the shots and give his personal opinion on this PR failure scenario but many many customers and potential new customers see it in a different light.Prehaps its time to step back and look from the customers views,i always go by the majority rather than the minority.

As i see it the MD is thye minority and we the customers are the majority, these are personal observations but potential long term damaging observations.

that sounded more like a drunkin rant than a public relations post to me. whatever, most are kinda aggravated with this whole thing. instead of trying calm things down. that is like throwing kerosene on a fire for a lot people. maybe he should stick with just the engineering aspect things there and get someone to handle other things. that did not sound at all professional.

quoted for accuracy.

...you know he/they MUST be reading this; if I had visited the forums to 'see' what's being said, there is no way I could ignore the potential responses to my post after all those months of SILENCE.

Maybe another year of false hope/buildup and then some more bs response?
Come on, Tesoro!

 I wish to thank everyone from this forum who purchased one of the 5 Tesoro machines that I had for sell on Ebay. I sold them all and no longer own any Tesoro products. I'm not happy about this but I think waiting 3 years for any changes is enough. I encourage all who purchased my machines to go out and enjoy them. They all do well in iron infested areas. This is my last posting here on this forum. I will continue to post on various other forums on findmall (if I don't get booted) Lol  I want to repeat what I said earlier about Rusty Henry. He is Tesoro's best and I hope he prospers with them for a long time to come. Happy Hunting. RDF :detecting::goodnight:

Serious?? you compare tesoro vs Sony? Phh... naaa.

I would like to mention that whenever they let leak about the Outlaw-that was a disaster in the long run. Perhaps hindsight leaves a scar.

When Robert did the field test on the Outlaw, it was a mistake because a report made by an employee of Tesoro just isn't the way to go about it. As far as a first press release on a new metal detector, yes, it was a disaster. He caught a lot of flack over that deal. If a person could overlook that feeble attempt for a first press release of a "new" metal detector, the Outlaw is a really great detector. What I like about the Outlaw is the way they handle small iron as I hunt some very old and trashy sites full of rusty nails. If it beeps on a target, you better dig it, because the target will be of non-ferrous content, not always a good target but not a nail either. Just my 2¢.....

Randy

I hope that Tesoro does well. My Tejon is still a strong unit.

Hoping to acquire a new Outlaw soon.

I have never understood why Tesoro made the LST without the ability to fit different coils unless the detector was sent back to Tesoro for the fitment.
I have owned a few Tesoro's and all have been great and I still have my LST which is working as good as the day I purchased it just after the first release.but the detector has been restricted severely by not being able to fit different size coils while in the field.
I am looking forward to a new release from tesoro...........Maybe a new beach PI with EMI cancel and a few selectable pulse delay timings and auto ground balance.
A price competative Gold detecting PI that can perform well in high iron meneralisation and hot rock areas would be good, although Minelab have flooded the market with their PIs but are far overpriced.

A high frequency VLF 17khz to 20khz that can ground balance beach salt into the water would be handy because it would be able to find the gold and silver chains that nearly all VLF and PI metal detectors are insensative to.
It would have to display full TID in an All Metal mode. An Motion fixed or variable Ground balance Disc Mode for the parks and play grounds would be usefull.
