Or incarnations. Then back in the '70's whoever bought it put Jim Lewellyn in charge as CEO,
and Don Parks in charge of repairs. Jim had the foresight to look ahead and went from building
the 400 series which were straight VLF's to the 500 series which was VLF/TR's; they even had a
budget line, the 900 series of VLF/TR's which was more than competitive with ANYBODIES entry level units.
The '80 had just hit and they unveiled the 1260, and shortly after the 1265 plus they had a line of
commercial units. This went on until they were bought up in the '90 and Jim was fired, and the new company
went the industrial route, flopped leaving Fisher deep in the Red and they were picked up by First Texas.
Fisher decided to go the route of digital [chip] because that is the wave of the future, and cost about 1/2
the price of building analog detectors.
So I can only say Fisher is Fisher, new look or not, and I'm sure their Inc. Papers says so. And they have
Dave Johnson who is responsible for the most successful of all their past designs. My only problem is
waiting for the 10" concentric loop.
