Spectra... first thoughts

Program: Coin and Jewelry

If you have a small sample ring...test a few swings and see what you get.

I found a small 14K size 2 gold ring at the beach (salt beach program) VDI around 14 at 3 or 4 inch in damp sand.
Good Luck

NY, Did you get your split screen fixed? You say it did this for TWO YEARS!!! Right out of the BOX!

And you are here for what? White's has steeped up on this! The machine works!! Just a sound software adjustment.

Let us know what it cost to FIX your SPLIT SCREEN.:cheekkiss:

Good Luck

It came straight from the distributor to the dealer. There are a lot of detectors in the "pipeline"... the problem does not affect the depth or the ability of the detector to make finds. A business can only do so much... especially a business with a niche marlet like metal detectors. If it were something like a toothbrush or something else that is in every home I could see a recall but I imagine that the profit margin is not nearly as large with a metal detector and the manufacturer has to make decisions, they cannot make one that will hurt the bottom line too much..
I am happy with the resolution.

If anyone else has this problem, contact me before posting and I will tell you who to get in touch with to resolve the problem. Whites is a good company and will resolve the problem. Mine was more of a communication problem than anything else... I just needed to get the attention of the right person, and they fixed the problem.

Whites, I think, would be hurt too badly if they recalled every unit in the pipeline. It might not be a viable business decision. Maybe in a perfect world... but we all know that this isn't such.

So... alls well that ends well.

Good Luck The split screen isnt costing me a thing besides shiping.I should have sent it in soon as i got it.It worked fine if i didnt turn the light on .I hated to be without it so i never sent it in sooner.I still have a huge pile of deep silver i found after all the whites got done looking :))

Good that you got the screen fixed! ML is cutting back repair on some of the OLDER units. :-( If they have an OLD part, they may work on the older unit.

I don't know how far back White's will go on repairs :-| My Eagle II SL 90 has a broken headphone receiver, still works. Might be a easy fix at home...I will get to it...LOL

Generally, we no longer fix any models with vacuum tubes, but will try to fix anything else. Most detectors from ~1980 and newer are not a problem (with the exception of a few truly obsoleted parts we simply cannot get) and we have a specialist who can usually fix models back to the late 1960's for those who just can't give them up! And, of course, aftermarket add-ons and mods are not a problem for us.
