Just getting started in south Texas, to hot in summer, plus there are snake, and bitting bugs of all shapes and sizes to deal with, and most of the time in summer a Woodpecker couldn't break the ground with his pecker. Winter is great down here to dig up some googies.

The weatherman keeps saying its going to be a warmer winter here in Ind. He must be living in florida and looking out side because we just got 2 or 3 more inches of snow and with the freezing weather none of its going away. I bought 2 new batteries for my RV in Oct... went out and both had froze and burst.... so i had to get two more and of course they werent covered by warranty.

[size=large]drew,
i think after you folks run your weathermen out of town and state they come to the great pacific northwest and start lying to us.

that aside i got anotherday out. or at least 2 hrs. and took the dogs out at the same time. more learning time. machine not so quirky today. actually enjoyed it. found two coins that had nails or pull-tabs in the hole with them or right next to them. never found them with my other machine cause of nulling by the tabs and nail. coins were only 3"-4" and i really combed this section alot in the summer. maybe this machine is showing it's worth after all.

:minelab: Mostly Woods action where the leaves keep the ground from freezing... managed to dig about 20 silver in the last month, so I figure the way the weather has been holding up, we have a while to go before we can no longer hunt. I myself will go out on a hunt even if there's snow on the ground, and temps are 36 or better and no wind me and my :minelab: are out there, very important, no wind chill factor, because that's what makes the difference as to hunt or not to hunt, the wing is the question...LOL, because the leaves still manage to stop the ground from freezing in the woods here in the north east... Oh, the advantage of the winter are; no bugs, no sweat or heat strokes, you can really see where your hunting and where you've been, with all the green in the early summer, you soon easily lose your bearings if you don't GPS where you've hunted before. I use land marks where I hunt so I'll know where I'm at and where I have already hunted.

I've been done since the end of November. Moved on to the winter hobbies already, and haven't been frequenting the board as much...

I'll gear back up in the spring though!
