squeeze in one more hunt.??

Have most of you put your babies up for the winter?...or do some of you think you can squeeze in one more?

33 degrees here this morning....snow has melted...ground only frozen to the 3" level....another wave of freezing crap headed this way next week.....but today....hmmmmm:thumbup:

Just curious...how many of you are 100% certain you're done for the season?

i'm not so sure the fat lady is thru singing here in s.w. washington state. i got out for more pratice yesterday. counted my finds for the year and think i'm done but there just might be another chance.

I hope for one more chance too but it doesn't look good. I also have already cleaned my detector and coil but it wont bother me if I get the chance to get it dirty again.

I think I'm "forked" too - just like amc rulz. It's been 11-24 degrees here in NE Ohio for last week or so and no warming trend in sight. Only saving grace might be the snow cover keeping the ground from freezing. Still need a few days in the 40s and some rain. Otherwise, I'll start putting my notes and finds together and wrap up this year. HH to those who still can.

I'm down in Texas for the winter, so I'm going to hunt the beach every morning & then fish in the PM until Happy Hour.

Never say die! We got another snowstorm today, with more to come tomorrow. The beauty of it is we got a blanket of snow last month that insulated the ground from freezing when we had the zero degree snap a couple weeks ago, so the ground is only frozen several inches deep currently. We usually have a warm week, somewhere around the first week of january so I'm banking on that. I will continue to keep my nose to the glass and slip out at every opportunity that presents itself to me.

:usaflag:I took the batteries out of mine almost a month ago. I'm through the denial stage already.

IT AINT OVER!
Found this '68 half in 5inches of snow a couple nights ago in 20above weather. I work outside year round so I'm alittle used to it, not that I love it, but I will tell you if you have a sledding hill nearby, you have a winter detecting spot. Thats where I found the half.

hoping for that famous january thaw but who knows also cleaned my detector i think snoopys in for the long haul except maybe indoor air test and other test i mite think of just to play

I'm hoping for one more hunt this year...though we have 3" on the ground and expect some more next Tuesday...one can hope now. This year I got a hunt in every month and hope to do so again for the coming year.

Germans bombed pearl harbor? You did that on purpose right Aaron? just seeing if we was awake? Not done yet, still think I can get a hunt in before this year is over.

i know of one german who got bombed in hawaii in 70'. we was on the same park bench. he falled down and started detecting with his nose.

I'll probably still go when the weather isn't to bad. Heavy gloves, hunters jumpsuit, warm boots and plenty of blow your nose tissue and some snacks. Biting at the bit, ready to go!

Im hopeing before we leave for Fla to get another one in, but we have about 3 inches of snow. I dont mind the cold, im just not to kean on all this wet stuff. Hopefully, we will get a break in the weather and leave by the 5th on next month.
