I don't know about you Mike but, I would be very interested in how he Cherry picks the Gold Rings out of the Tinfoil, pull tabs, and can slaw and lawn mower shredded up aluminum cans and gets the Gold rings. As far as Tesoro ever making the Golden or anything like it ain't gonna happen. Not now, tomorrow, or ever.
Now the good thing is they can still repair them but, if something happens to the Printed Circuit board, sorry you just bit the bullet. However they will offer you another unit, just not a Golden, at a reduced price if you are the original owner of the Golden.Try to get that from anyone else.
Lets get back to the Cherry Picking the rings. Like where do you run the width knob with notch centered. What does your audio sound like when you have the notches selected. Where do you run the Dis. Where do you run the Width knob with the notch switch in narrow. Where do you run the width knob with it in wide notch. How long did you own a Golden???
BTW the reason they quit making the new tone Golden's is because they were having problems with the tones being consistant. Some had 3 tones some had 4. There were only about 25 or 30 of them made then they stopped. Also they could not get the number of P/C's they needed.
Sorry I am really interested in how you Cherry Pick the Gold rings. Myself, Mike, and Tabman if he is still around know more about the Goldens then anyone and Mike and Tabman know more then I do. I am sure there might be a few more that know as much as we do about running them and If we could Cherry Pick Gold rings like you say you can, then maybe they would be $2000 $3000 a piece. As far as I concerned only a Sucker would pay $800 for a Golden Micro Max.
Yes I have a old Golden, matter of fact it is one of the first ones to ever be made. I love my old Golden but it sure as hell will not Cherry Pick Gold Rings. Nothing will do that.
I am a jewelry hunter and I have still got 18 detectors that will find rings but none are Cherry Pickers and I would rather hunt jewelry then hunt coins. It is true that on some of my detectors I only dig up to nickles, beaver tails, and round pull tabs and nothing above that, UHA, maybe a quarter LOL. Mike is right about the detectors he mentioned and I can add the F75. The 705 is good too. The V3i is excellent also. The shadow X5, I know I forgot a few. The Golden is nothing but a notch machine but it is very convenient to use and it can be used fast and does a lot of different things quickly with just the movement of a knob or a switch but it is still a notch machine Period. There are plenty of notch machines around better tones and more tones to go with the ID numbers and are deeper then the Golden. Anyway that is all I got to say about this very old Thread and who are you really. You are not a new poster on findmall. HH May All Your Days Be Filled With Gold. Jerry aka Tinfoil
