Saw a refference to something called the MXSPORT. Any idea what it is?

A waterproof Treasure Pro with more batteries? I think our expectations were set a little too high but time will tell. At least it uses the higher frequency but the V series coils are useless without the waterproof connector.

As mentioned in man yother threads, there is a dual frequency machine for the beach/water area. It was White's Beach Hunter ID [BHID] and now is the Beach Hunter 300.
A waterproof DFX to say.
And 22.5 kHz for the wet salt water sand? Are you serious?

Actually, I was thinking about dry sand up in the sunbathing areas. But my 15 kHz DFX did just fine in wet salt sand. I'm convinced there are loads of tiny gold, earring studs, pendants, and such, that are too small to be picked up by most detectors. The BHID is 15 kHz, but I think the MXT is still overall better at small gold, probably due to its prospecting lineage. The MX Sport wouldn't really be the best machine for a dedicated beach hunter, as you pointed out the BHID would be better, just that dual freqs would make it more useful if someone wanted to do that.

Thanks Sven for the pics and the specs! The big question now is whether the MX Sport is a Treasure Pro tweaked to be a little more "MXT-like" or whether it is a true MXT tweaked a little and put in the Treasure Pro housing? I sure hope it's a real MXT! It looks awesome. And I'm especially happy to see that it appears to have both auto ground balance and manually adjustable GB. Can't wait to start reading actually field reports.

Looks like a winner to me. It should be able to compete with the AT pro for sales. A seemingly simple design, yet a lot of options. Segment discrimination, tones, threshhold and a BRIGHT LCD screen, make it desire able to me. Hopefully there are a few choices for smaller coils, and it would be nice to see a good comfortable set of headphones put with it. Lastly, the price will probably determine how many sales are taken from Garrett. The MXsport may not be what everyone was hoping for from Whites, but at least someone is competing for the market. NO other companies have put out anything that compares to the options of the AT pro's & gold's, for the price point at which they sell. -(I am talking WATERPROOF machines) Kudos to WHITES for that!!!!

P.S. Love the bright LCD screens White's make!

If nothing else, White's has got the forums fired up with comments from everyone. Competition is a good thing, and hopefully there is something exciting about this detector. Leave it to Sven to come up with the information, thanks for posting the picture and specs.

Not in my budget
Well, I didn't expect that kinda pricing. I figured closer to that At pro retail, not the XCAL ll.
At that price, I will wait to see field tests, and continue using what I have.

$1349

You're kidding, right?

I have to believe it will be more like $600-$800 tops. It's basically just a waterproof and spiffed-up MX5 with the Treasure Pro screen, after all.

where does it show that crazy over priced price??? there is no way that can be right.. count me out..

I would like to know where that number comes from also....

That coil looks like a ultimate coil and not a whites coil.

Doesnt look like a 13 inch ultimate coil at all. Its a new 10 inch DD coil

SINGLE Frequency Waterproof Detector at $1349!! I think it's going to be a TOTAL DUDD at that Price!! I PERSONALLY think they should have PUT the BEACH HUNTER ID in that
HOUSING, and it would have been ALOT BETTER!! DETECTOR-Pro already makes Single Frequency WATERPROOF Detectors, and have for YEARS at a Much CHEAPER Price!!
STILL very LIMITED Success in SALTWATER Environment!! JMHO, Les Robinson.

Posted on another forum by a well known detector field tester.
I would have thought closer to the AT Pro myself.
If indeed is the price, maybe White's will have a change of heart and lower the price after all the complaints?

I understand that the Mx sport is not a 13 inch coil..... but the coil sure looks like a ultimate design, as I have never seen a whites coil look like that.
