Quite amazed.....

...I am amazed at what I found after pounding the areas with my fixed ground balanced tesoros, Deleon included. Most missed coins are quarters for whatever reason....

I think that's 'cause the GB is too positive and/or sensitivity set too high. If you can run more negative GB, quarters will "hit" much harder. For some reason, turning sensitivity down seems to help quarters hit better too, at least on some of my Tesoros. If I "power balance" GB in disc mode right to the negative edge, quarters sound off just fine.... Something you can't do with a fixed GB.

Bibelot you're dumping all your tesoros?!?!

You know I gave it more thought and I'm still keeping my Tesoros. They don't owe me anything. My plan is to take my clad finds and buy a Mojave with it this summer. I found a 14 k gold ring already this year so I am selling that to help curve the wait.:hot:

Wheew. That was scary bibelot.
I have too many machines, and I know that.
But each time I'm thinking of parting with any, I always reconsider. The money is already spent and too many find memories running each of them.
Each have their purpose. Deleon for coin shooting, outlaw and bandido II micromax for pretty much everything, but nice that I can run through a new area and cherry pick only quarters and silver out (coo feature) then return with another machine or continue with that one at lower disc, then finish off with cibola and vaq for the deep goodies.
Cutlass was my original compadre on steroids and now also have the Mojave for compadre runs in bad ground and of course the beloved compadres. Best for bringing a newbie into the hobby.

Most think my stable was chosen at random but they all have specific uses to me.
My Turkish machines are great to in just about everything, but there's something more..... Relaxing ....about using my tesoros. Even the Deleon but that one kind of pushes it with the screen into fancy land.

I'm very very happy to hear you're keeping them :)
Worst thing is to get rid of them only to have to get them all over again.

P.s. another great use for my compadres, as I've said in another thread, is when I had a few (maybe too many) and I can go out my door and use in in my apartment complex. So simple anyone can use it lol. Even me in that condition. Haha.

But I do really really want to try and learn my Deleon better to expand its usability to me. But for coins and knowing almost nothing, anyone can get coins with a Deleon.

Yes but the Deleon will let you cherry pick the older pennies and leave the corroded zincs in the ground. Even my CTX fails to accomplish that task.

Well many tesoros can do that not just the Deleon. But for coins period the Deleon wins for me :)

If you don't mind my stepping in, I would like to offer this, and how important forums are to figuring out your machine: After reading what was written above, I says "hey, I'll go give it a go".

So I grab my DeLeon, head to my front yard where I have found several pennies and a couple of dimes. Armed with a digger, towel, and PP, I lower my sensitivity down to 4. Bingo! Within 10 min. I found two quarters that I had missed before, with my sensitivity set to aound 10 or higher. MADE A BELIEVER OUT OF ME....

Can't wait to have some more free time this afternoon to hit it again. The only thing is, ohh wow, the DeLeon is sure quiet set on 4.

Pinenut, thanks for the GREAT BIG TIP. I feel that is huge. I mean really BIG.

ps: I am thinking Ivan offered this advice to me early on, but I think it got lost in the old memory bank. Anyway, you were right Ivan. So thanks to you too.
