Notka Impact vs Makro Racer? - Photos Posted On Nokta Forum, Wow

The target ID was too tight at the top of the Racer scale. Too Many 82's and 83's. On another forum it was brought to the attention of Nokta/Makro by quite a few users. If they spread the scale and allow for a more accurate target ID the Impact will go places that I just could not hunt with the Racer. I hunt old yards that are well taken care of. Every hole counts. I can't afford to dig constant trash holes. Right now the CTX and E Trac do provide the best target ID in my opinion. But they are heavy and to be honest the Racer kicked the crap out of them in the iron. They also are terrible in freshly tossed dirt. And to be honest the F75LTD is the deepest I have ever used. I'm not brand loyal at all. I use what works. And right now I have a huge hole in my detector collection for the Impact. No detector does it all. I imagine that will be the case for years to come. I don't expect the Impact to be a magic wand, but until there are real advances in depth and target ID at depth the ability to unmask in iron is the only new horizon. And Nokta/Makro has blown a hole wide open in iron hunting.

The racer is the first of many from this company so if you didn't like it you will like the next machine it will do just about everything you want for both park and relic hunting.

I don't care what anyone says. Racer with small coil sees things many other won't/can't.

Talk is cheap! How about a video showing that small coil not finding what even a 13" coil does in extremely trashy (iron) soil.

Failed!

Sorry can't post two videos in the same post.

How about the Racer vs the AT Pro in extremely trashy (iron) soil. You be the judge.

In my opinion the ATP had the better hit.

Again I say talk is cheap and that is why I prefer to try them first hand. My results often vary greatly from the claims I see posted.

Well I enjoy watching certain folks take indefensible positions and try to defend them.

I believe I will stick with my statements and my experiences.

Besides it seems there are more experienced detectorists touting the the performance of CoRe and Makro Racer's performance in iron----NOT the AT Pro.

Granted the AT Pro is a good detector. IMO if it wouldn't water resistant/proof---it would not be near as popular.

So you stick with your AT Pro. This way a Racer owner/user won't mind hunting behind you.

I would think the racer would take the lead

Well if it takes that big of a coil to hit the penny then why would a 5" coil be a match try the 11" and then the 5x10 and try a normal size coil on your other detector...

Very bad example you still didn't change coils on the other machine to see if it hits the target

The Impact, while it may have originally shared the same housing and rod setup as the Racer (as seen in the leaked KC photos), appears to be nothing like the Racer when you really examine the menu system.

For starters this machine is clearly a multifrequency machine, as there's both a Frequency selection and a Frequency Shift selection. Is it a selectable frequency or multiple freqiencies at once. Would love it if it was like the Whites V3i where you can select one of three or all three at once, or something along those lines.

It has a boost or deep mode on it, another feature not found on the Racer.

Clearly it has many more modes then the Racer.

I like the newly designed rod and the pistol grip, this looks like it'll be way more comfortable to swing for long periods of time.

Should be very interesting to see what the final results is, but so far I like where it's going, between what we saw with the leaked KC photo whereas the Impact simply looked like a different color Racer, now the Impact looks to be nothing like the Racer at all. Hopefully that $599 MSRP KC listed still sticks around :poke:

And 98% of you missed the point while concentrating on defending your champion.

Point is, no one detector is "best" for everyone, and the performance you might get in your soil doesn't mean I'll get the same. I think the Racer is a fine detector, for the money, and I'm sure the Impact will be even better. If I was more of a "dig it all" or relic hunter I's probably still be using the Racer. As it is I am not. My wants require a very informational target ID system and a very sensitive to small low conductors for gold. I took the Racer to all my heavy hunted rusted iron rich sites and found nothing I had missed with what I already have. If it does the job for you then great, but don't flip your wig when someone else dares to suggest it isn't what they are looking for or post their results and you don't approve.

If the price of the Impact is in the right range it too will be a great buy. Fact is there are a lot of great buys out there already. I hope they hit a home run.

So, I am confused. I'm confused and not experienced with either of these companies, but yall compare the Racer to the Impact like they are related, but as it looks to me they are two different companies.I've seen lots of praise for the Racer. I've got a Deus, GT, and an AT pro. Am still learning with the Deus, but love it. Thanks for explanations. HH-Mark

My understanding is Makro, who makes the Racer, is owned by Notka. Sorta of like How the Pinto and the Bobcat. The Pinto was made by Ford and the Bobcat was made by Mercury but Mercury was owned by Ford. The Bobcat was just a more features/luxury version on the Pinto.

The compaines joined and work togeather they are brothers and now they can crank out new products while the USA is wondering what hit them. The Deus has great software updates each year and the USA is wondering what hit them...

Lowboy, I'm seriously considering getting myself a Racer. Looks like a darn nice machine from all accounts on this forum and videos. But that's to be determined, for me and my hunting abilities and environment. Do you remember when the G2 for you was the best detector ever made. I do. You're one of the reasons I bought a g2 a while back. So now you are slamming American made units in most all posts. Come on man, enough is enough. Just praise the Racer for the detector it is and ease up on your efforts to degrade the American made detectors. It's not nessasary. :rage:

Amen & Amen!!!

The problem is the Fisher and some others have not added a brand new line of detectors in more than a few years they have done some updates but not something new. Both Deus and the Racer are moving forward by adding new machines or software updates via the intenet that are free and that help makes the machine better and keeps the machine moving forward. So I'm all for new and have tested the G2 and the F19 against the racer and deus and they (racer & deus) are better machines for my type of dirt. Just my thoughts no harm in that is there

I would agree that US detectors are lagging behind on up-gradable option, but, that isn't always a bad thing. I got the sneaking feeling we will soon be seeing the top tier US detectors with the upgrade option done right. Sometimes being the leader in technology isn't always the smartest move. Letting others work out the bugs and the wants of users isn't such a bad approach. Like right now isn't CTX getting hammered for not having put out any update? Lessons to be learned.

As far as US detector you've also got to remember detecting in the US seems to be a different type of hunting than across the pond. Most US detectors concentrate more on the ability to hunt Americas heavy modern trash environments where honestly, most foreign machine fail miserably in my opinion. Nothing hunts an standard trashy American park like a well adjusted V3i. Now I'm referring mostly to the hunting experience. Far more pleasant with a US detector. I'll be the first to say the E-Trac hits those extremely deep coins very well, but how long can you ride that horse? After about 5 years the supper ability of my E-Trac has become pretty much useless and now I'm using a different approach and pulling keepers again.

Don't underestimate US detectors when used in the US.

Well US companies have fallen behind.

Look at this forum. Can you tell which detector line has pulled the most silver????? Not Whites, Fisher, Garrett, or Tesoro!!!!

So this hunting coins in the USA has been successfully dominated by a foreign detector maker.

Look at the glitches that have occurred in the detector's programming over the last 6 years. Notice Deus, Minelab, Nokta, Makro so far have a good record----not White's, Fisher.

Look at which VLF detector is currently the deepest in the hot ground---Blisstool-another foreign made detector. I've seen this with my own eyes over targets in hot ground.

It seems hunting in iron again looks like a foreign detector has taken poll position.

What about salt water and beach hunting----again looks to me like it is dominated by foreign detector maker--Minelab.

Look at pulse detection-----again totally dominated my Minelab-----just go to a DIV hunt and look what the folks are a running.

So this is my report card. US detector manufacturers had better get off their duffs. I would rate Garrett the best of the bunch though from what I see.

And of course, I'm sure someone will try to spin this!!!! But facts are facts.......
