Nokta Golden Sense (crazy recovery speed!)

I saw a video of the nail test board involving the Velox One. It performed very bad compared to what I have used in the past.

Couple of problems with the settings for the nail test. The owners manual states that disc starts between 4 and 6, below this iron reports as high tone. relics1864's video shows him at 5. Also, why not turn iron off and see what happens, just curious. The owner's manual also states to lift the coil 5cm off the ground and sweep left to right and adjust GB, you don't lift up and down as shown. About the kettle iron, my GB DP does that sometimes. I've had a couple of weird targets for that detector. But when you turned the disc down to 0 in the vid I think you might have gone to FA (factory setting) thus nulling the iron, there is no 0. I think if the Velox was setup spot-on things would be different. Been reading on some forums across the pond about GB'ing in mineral 1 setting and lightly tapping the coil for sens setting. Sounds interesting.

relic1864,
I'm not being critical on you, I really enjoy all your videos and they are appreciated. I don't own a Velox but I may soon, just want to see it get a fair shake. I can only speak for myself but it's difficult (for me) to pick up a machine and in a short timeframe know it well. My CTX and ATP are good examples, you pick them up and can do pretty good but after a few months you're a whole lot better.

I made a nail board test page as close to the one in the vid as I could. My ATP and GB DP didn't do much if any better than the Velox. I'm going to experiment with that some more, very interesting.

I'll do that. I've got a heck of an adventure coming up with that thing and in the mean time I'll be doing some beach hunting along the coast.

Hi,
As far as I know, Nokta detectors are made in Turkey.
Besides Bosal aftermarket mufflers about the only product that I know of, that is made in Turkey.
Metal detecting on the other hand is strictly forbidden in that country.
Guess they have to do their field testing abroad.
Just my 2 bits worth

Check out Nokta's website, very nice. Nokta has been in business since 2001. After a quick search metal detecting in Turkey is not strictly forbidden but it's not easy to do. You need permission from a government office or museum, if you are successful they issue you a certificate to detect in a specified area and you will be accompanied by someone. Tough to accomplish but not forbidden. !

A great detector coming out of Turkey is unexpected. What about the Blisstool and Bulgaria! What a great detector the Bliss is.

I actually almost went with Blisstool...looked too much like trying to fly a spaceship with all the dials, knobs and adjustments but I am sure it is a wonderful machine but I'm suffering from so called "chemo brain" and struggle now with complicated tasks. I do like the lack of bells and whistles present in the Nokta replaced with raw ground penetrating power...one does have to tune one's ear to the sounds and make a decision on whether to dig or not but for me....if it sounds non-ferrous, its coming out of the ground for closer more careful examination....normally the only descrimination a target will get from me is when I physically throw it into the junk pile. I will say that I have done a little treasure hunting in Turkey back in the mid 80's while temporarily assigned to Incirlik Air Base....still have a few of the Greek, Roman, Byzantine and Seljuk coins I [smuggled] out on Military Airlift Command transport. Not very smart but I was young and adventurous at the time and like living on the edge.
