Nokta Golden Sense (crazy recovery speed!)

New member
I was checking today's email and got my KellyCo advertisement for some new Nokta metal detector. Nokta what?!?... Those non Garrett-Minelab-Fisher-Tesoro-White's machines that no one gets or ventures too (some $3K+)

If you wanna see something pretty darn impressive on recovery speed... click the link I posted, then scroll down to "NOKTA GOLDEN SENSE DEPTH TEST VIDEOS" and then click the first small video out of the 10 'Golden Sense Recovery Speed'.... coin-nail-coin-nail-coin-nail... and running over it....Holy Mackeral!

That is one crazy detector! hip mount box with settings and no TDI, just a hand grip with 2 display lights for 'ferrous' and 'gold/non-ferrous', that hit when you get a signal...

the 13"x16" coil looks insanly big too!...LOL

If you are a 'tones-hunter' you will appreciate this video demo of it....WOW!

and it's under $1000 too.... thoughts?.... ideas?...comments?....

first the Deus ... now this?!?!?

Trouble with Nokta is you can't seem to find anyone who can give any feed back from actual use. I'd sure like to see a user that can back the advertising on any of their models.

Somebody has been watching my Deus recovery speed videos.

never seen any independent reviews in UK tektor magazines of this brand for some reason .

You would be better off taking that huge amount of cash you would spend on a nokta and burning it. At least it would keep you warm for a little bit. The reason there are ZERO reviews of that POS is because people don't write reviews on scams.

Not a scam folks. This is one hell of a detector. I got to use one of these in Spain when my Troy Shadow X5 crapped out on me. My nephew had purchased a NOKTA Golden Sense to use in his construction company in Spain with the secondary intentions of treasure hunting. It took me just a little while to learn the machine having no experience with it but just in a few hours of swinging, I made some great finds in the area around Ocana that were so deep it put every other detector I had ever used there to shame and I've hit that place with a Minelab Sovereign XS with an 18" WOT coil. I purchased a NOKTA Golden Sense on my return to the United States and have used it relic hunting, beach hunting and prospecting. It is a very powerful tool for the serious treasure hunter. I am in Panama City, Florida and get to beach hunt, relic hunt and run away from home 2-3 times a year to go prospecting in Nevada, Arizona, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming. I would be willing to meet up with some of the skeptics on here and go head to head in a relic hunt, beach hunt or prospecting. Check out the photos of some of the things found with this. Those spent 45/70 cartridges were over 15 inches in the ground. The gold tooth cap was at around 10 inches and the small nuggets between 7-9. Please drop me a message if you have any questions and please do not be afraid of technology from a company as reputable as NOKTA. Do a little research on the company's background. I checked them out and had the added luxury of being able to use one of their detectors before making up my mind. It may not be very well known here in the United States but to call it a scam without really knowing all the facts is an injustice.

Kellyco has one raving review and it sounds just like what ganixle wrote on here..........Reviewer: Karl Backus - Professional

24 inch deep musket balls, a breeze ???????? Who wants to dig two feet for a musket ball and how musketballs are two feet deep? Anyway Karl recovered a load of them

I think I will keep what I have :bouncy:

Yes sir, I am the one that did the review for Kellyco after using the machine in Spain. I am surprised no more folks have reviewed the machine, thinking that not too many Americans have used one yet. To answer the depth of musket balls and how they got there, modern agriculture and deeply plowed fields in Spain pushes musket balls and other dense relics to depths at which I don't like digging either but it does show the capabilities of the machine and for me it shows the potential for big nuggets at depth as well as picking up the smaller ones closer to the top often ignored by pulse detectors. The depth on big targets and sensitivity on small ones makes this my number one choice for everything except coin shooting in a local park. I would not be afraid to coin shoot with the smaller coil but only have the standard stock coil so I avoid areas that are manicured. I have recovered several silver coins and older nickels with this thing but by its very nature you have to dig everything non-ferrous to see what it is so I don't take it into an area that will not tolerate some pretty deep digging. The Double D coil even as large as it is allows me to snipe good targets from amongst the iron junk out there and be reasonable sure I am ignoring iron and picking up the good stuff. I just ordered the new VELOX detector and plan on putting them both through the paces in about two weeks on a nugget hunting run. Hopefully will hit a few ghost town/abandoned mining shacks as well or relics and coins. Again, I am willing to provide a demo or let someone swing this thing for an ops check. Don't be afraid of new technology, research NOKTA Engineering and see that they might be relatively new to metal detectors but have a history of robotics and other high tech manufacturing since 1986.

Notice the infamous musket-balls in the photo and the other assortment of goodies and not so goodies recovered using this machine. I dug the sounds not knowing they were musket-balls, just knowing that it was a deep non iron target and you can see the variety of lead, copper, bronze and silver picked up in just that one area. That one area has been hit by everyone with a metal detector in that part of Spain. The area dates back to Bronze age and spans that time up to fairly modern. It was the site of a major battle between the forces of none other than Napolean Bonaparte's forces and the Spanish, as a result the site is polluted with iron cannonball fragments and different sizes of musket ball, the larger ones being Spanish and the smaller ones French. The Spanish did take a whooping at that battle and it wasn't until later in the area of Aranuez with the help of Britian's Wellington that the Spanish were able to defeat the French. Come on in....the water if fine!

People who buy Nokta should be interested buying the Eiffel Tower in Paris as well. Give me a call, I'll hock you up

Why does Kellyco carry them?

tabman

Why does Kellyco sell long range locators? If there is a buck to be made, Kellyco is in the game.

Truth is I can't answer why Kellyco carries long range locators. Kellyco was and as far as I know is the only place here Stateside to purchase a NOKTA, that's why I went with them. When dealing with dubious products such as LRL's, MFD et al, it falls under, "let the buyer beware". Research and if possible see the product you intend to purchase in action and use it if you can. LRL's are" LOL's" as I've seen guys go bonkers trying to find stuff with them. Have watched a many a hole dug to nowhere with a bunch of excuses as to what happened. I like to hold the transmitter/receiver in my hand in the form of a metal detector and know when a signal has contacted a piece of metal and is being bounced back making an audible sound or flexing a needle on the old analog detectors.

I'll record my finds on this next trip with my two NOKTA's and give a full report. Offer still stands if someone wants to see one in action. I would have been skeptical too had I not had the chance to use one before buying. I did get hosed a few years back with the DEEPERS so called MF 2008-B which turned out to be more adjustable frequency than the touted multiple frequency and was unstable in all applications so it does pay to cast a wary glance at unknown technology. I sold my Infinium LS to buy this one and was torn between it and the Blisstool. Good decesion? Time will tell!

I think the Nokta's for real but I'm waiting for the results of an independant test underway at this time.
Kellyco reviews have credibility issues--just sayin" :)
My biggest concern would be service.

On another note, have any of you guys ever considered an overseas metal detecting trip. I am in the planning stages of a trip to Croatia for some detecting. Have got a connection here with family there and a translator for those of us that do not speak the language. Thinking it will be cheaper than a trip to Jolly old England, more interesting and with good possibilites of finding some really neat history. Bronze age, Greek, Roman along with the barbarian tribal movements and Medieval all possibilites along with some interesting food, fauna and drink. If anyone is interested please send me a PM.

There is no way on earth that any detector will hit a musket ball at 24".......what a load of bull.

I hear ya talking there big fella. When do you want to go head to head with this thing..? Nauti Neil...hum.....high dollar Nautilus?? I love the way you've never used one or even seen one of these NOKTA's and yet, you can make such a matter of fact claim about what it can or cannot do. Just a guess but with a Nautilus you must be in the east somewhere, I'll be back this way near the end of October with a trip to North Carolina for a visit with folks then back down to South Carolina for some deer hunting and would take special efforts to pencil you in for an afternoon of detecting if you are anywhere within 250 miles of where I'll be. Don't know how deep your targets are where you are at. Don't know if agrucultural practices push things as deep as they do in Spain but still, you've got to have one of those hammered sites where your machine and superior skills have pretty much cleaned it out and rendered it sterile so, your call there Neil, I'd love for you to prove me wrong. If you are really serious and can wait until mid summer coming and if you can get a passport and are capable of waddling more than a few hundred meters, I'd love to show you some real treasure hunting in Spain where targets are anywhere from surface down to the aforementioned "what a load of bull", 24 inch level and the digging is like busting through cured adobe at the end of summer. Remember that old cheesy movie called Warriors back in the 80's with that little creep banging the bottles together, "Warriors, come out to play"...I'm banging the bottles, Neeeeil, come out to play! :twodetecting: Seriously, PM me with details of how we can get together and I think you'll change your tune once you see how this thing works. Opinions are like belly buttons in that everyone has em but really one should really have some knowledge of a subject before expressing said opinion......IMHO!

Just for the record, not every single musketball or target located with the thing was at the 2 foot level. Three of them, all dense musket balls were worked down to where they couldn't sink any further unless they start plowing deeper than they do. Much like gold on bedrock, lead behaves the same way, working down until it hits hardpan. After finally recovering these targets, I measured by placing the handle end of my digging tool into the hole, grabbing the handle at ground level and then with a 50 dollar bill that I had not exchanged for EUROS measured 4 x 50 dollar bill lengths. I use this method to measure fish as well since I rarely hit the fields, woods or streamside with a tape measure. I had considered that the targets were falling back into the hole as I was removing the loosened dirt but with a pinpointer confirmed that they were still in the hole. The pinpointer didn't even pick them up until the last few inches of dirt covering the target remained. Copper cobs and bronze Roman coins really sound off loud on this thing but none of them were as deep as the lead by any means.

I wouldn't be so quick to knock those European detectors. Most of the ones I have looked at and found info on have been depth demons. Deeptech is another one. They keep them simple and make depth a priority. Plenty of reviews on the Deeptech on another forum. Keith Southern who is very reputable can tell you just how great they are. Simple fact is you shouldn't have to mortgage you house to get a deep detector. I think the American companies need to get their stuff together and make something that can compete, because right now I think they are falling behind in that simple, deep, reasonable cost area.

Agreed. Folks point out the cost of these foreign machines as a problem but many fall in well short of what a high end White's, Garrett or Minelab costs and can out dance them all day when it comes to depth. I am so looking forward to getting my new VELOX One and giving it a whirl. I had to sell a few things and work it into the budget but it didn't break the bank. We'll see just how well it does on nuggets here in a couple of weeks. I'll keep you guys posted on the results.

I have been taking a hard look at the Velox One also and would love to hear your opinion on it!
