Next tesoro I should buy? Opinions wanted

pied piper  gotta love a crowd I used to!! now I avoid them at all costs :cheekkiss: its not them its me right.

no let me revise that if I am pulling out coin after coin I don't care who's watching if I am not finding much I yell out to them its not a reality TV show and that they should go home if they want to watch telly or watch YouTube on their ph. or something like all the other normal people !!

I must say we have a crowd watching our conversation 2000+ views

Haha next project, measuring the poles on my current detectors. Buying hard case luggage, taking to foam factory here and having custom cut foam put in so I have super sweet cases for my detectors lol.
The nokta will need the biggest one.

well that's one I cant help ya with :lmfao: I just went out sat on the lounge and there's 4 detectors sitting there with me they alternate from there to the cupboard and the back seat of my wagon and they do get a clean and all looked after but no foam cases for my beeping friends.

sure someone else can help with that one

AJ

I'll start with the easiest one. Or 2. Either the ace or the compadre.

I've been using a 28" plastic tool box. Under several names, water tight seal too.
Wrap items in 24" bubble wrap....

Lowes and HomeDepot use to carry them, last ones I ordered from Wallyworld.

Stanley, Bostich, Dewalt, other names, it's all the same OEM tool box with tray for your pinpointer and batteries.

I want to have customers foam cut so each piece has a place.

Well gents, I kinda made my decision.
Just closed on the sale of a great condition Bandido II for what I think was a great price (less than an Outlaw by dar).
So gents, I posted another thread about it, but I'm curious what you all think of this unit. :)

By the way this doesn't mean I won't be getting another detector like the outlaw or vaq lol. Just that I couldn't pass on this!!

I have owned 3 older model Tesoro/Laser based machines for upto 10 years.although i have not used them for sometime, the one that i did use was the Compadre for the occasional river detecting sessions hunting for roman votive offerings in fords and other water courses and it did work of a fashion.

Recently i thought about going back to the Tesoro stable to include a new UK version of the Vaquero called the Trident11 Extreme with the 11x8'' coil on it,and after adding a few hours on the lock on roman/saxon sites i must be honest i am not over enthusiastic about it,pinpointing was not the best with the larger than normal coil, although it did find me some nice romans, not sure if i am honest why i bought the machine.

It will just go back into the cupboard and be used on the occasional trashy roman site, but my old failthful DFX and T2 have come out of retirement, its a shaame but thats life i guess.

there's that DFX popping up again think it must be calling me

thanks for the update Mega, guess we get used to what where used too

Just ordered the parts to mod the cibola with GB!!!
I hope I don't break the thing lol

if you have the right tools and know what you are doing you wont brake it

me I just bought a V and headphones are as about as electrical as I get :poke:

but we all wish you well :bouncy:

AJ

Haha the directions seem pretty straightforward.
Figured when you get oranges, make orange juice.
Didn't intend to purchase the detector, but since I can't do anything about it, might as well mod it to be like the vaquero.

I wish I liked my 11x8... Aside from better coverage I feel the depth is lacking. Pretty new to the hobby however.
Kris

It's hard to say how, soil I guess.

I checked it again to make sure, while the 11x8 is equal to or even a little less than the stock 9x8 on a silver quarter using an air test, it blows away the 9x8 on my test garden on a silver quarter that's been buried a few years. I can barely get a squeek on the 9x8, but put on the 11x8 and I can swing 2-3 inches above ground and still get a nice smooth tone I'd dig every time.

I think I did read somewhere that a DD coil (the 11x8 RSD is a DD coil), cuts through bad soil better than a concentric.

This is an exception, but I once found a dime at 9" with a Deleon. The ID was iffy on the screen but it was actually correct with a little interpretation.

Other than that I'd say 6" to 7" is normally a deep dime.

Well I ended up grabbing the bandido II and a cibola that I modded.
I'm sure I'll end up buying more, but figured I'd fill in the people on this thread as to what I went with.
Also got my deleon back and ordered a pole set for the B2 because it has the very old shiny pole set with no cam locks and it's wobbly.
I look forward to hunting with these, but have to use the deleon where there's no EMI, that thing is crazy sensitive to any EMI.
As always, I'll be putting my time in with the compadre. Most foolproof detector I have.
