Next tesoro I should buy? Opinions wanted

Can't go wrong with the Golden, Eldorado or Bandido 2 micro max. You can find them at a reasonable price if your patient, you just have to watch the forums and have the cash ready. Good luck with what ever Tesoro you choose.

Just won a bandindo 2 for the price for a silver micromax! Now I just need to unload my ss micromax. I've said it before the outlaw would be my first choice if the audio was better for my ears. Until then I'll stick with old models.

Why do you say th outlaw? Just curious because I've been checking that one out and the extra coils seem nice.
Not sure I undertake the two functions of the return button.... correct me if I'm wrong, but a half push in goes to all metal and a full press returns it?
Kinda confusing.
And also, why the outlaw over vaq and Tejon etc ?
Thanks.

don't worry about the red button only use for atomic launch  or when changing coils.

that 7" coil you have will fit the µMax detectors but not the new HOT ones, have a 7" on the outlaw does well on coins and gold, gotta dig though.

nothing wrong with the V , C, & T they all work! bit different style of detector though and are 4 pin coils and the D & O are 5 pin.

Why the outlaw? It's actually a better unit than the older Tesoro's, with one major exception, the audio. As for the tejon, I like the smaller unit's. And the vaquero and cibola? A high tone cibola with Keith's mod is still on my short list. Of course those can't use my cleansweep coil so...

Oh ok. So better than the old units, but is it better than the new ones offered now like the vaq, cib, or the tejon?

outlaw is Tesoro's newest offering released in 2012 the others 10 years earlier.

Ahhh thanks AJ. Didn't know that!!
What is your take on the outlaw compared to the others?

outlaw is a great detector found these last winter with the 7" concentric like what you have there. just don't mess with the red button I don't need it to pin point with the 7" concentric coil its only a full push after changing coils and GB. but of cause it works to pin point but not with my big fingers and heavy hand some people can use it  I don't bother

So your recommendation is the outlaw out of all that are offered now AJ?

IF I were going out to buy a new, all-purpose LAND Tesoro, knowing the little that I do after trying a few different Tesoros....My choice would be a Vaquero. It's capable of going fairly deep, has adequate discrimination, is quite light, and has ground balance. Is the Outlaw any better? I don't know; it's one I haven't tried, but I now have the Tejon, Vaquero and Compadre. Vaquero is presently my favorite, all-around. ^_^

From my understanding; outlaw/silver coins, cibola/vaquero coin and relic, tejon relics. Of course you can use any for any thing you want. Personally I was/am looking for a cibola high tone just ended up getting the bandido ii micro because I love the ss micro so much! If I wasn't going to mod and was buying new I'd get the vaquero high tone.

Can you just buy it high tone? I don't understand if you send it in for that or what. I like it's tone on videos I've seen.
I definitly want a bandido II.... we shall see.

Well, I hope I can do coil switches with the preset GB on the deleon. Just got a 5 pin 5.75 on the bay for a good deal. Waiting on the answer from tesoro, but at worst, I could always pick up a silver umax and use it with that....
Gonna defeat the purpose entirely if I end up with the outlaw and the 3 coil pack... lol.
From a dealer and they do repairs as well so I assume it's in good working order. We'll I hope

My DeLeon swaps coils pretty well I think. Stuck the 8" on it, and the 7" Widescan too and they performed about like I expected them too. Not quite as deep as the stock 9x8, but thats expected since the coil is smaller. Used the same coils on my Bandido II with manual GB and the results were about the same. I think you will be good.

Awesome thanks! !
Was worried because after tesoro rebuilds my troy coil they are setting the internals to that coil. They're close in side and function so it should be ok as you said.
:)
Great place for info here!!! Collective knowledge!!

you already have a nice 5 pin coil there in the 7" I do not understand why people want to buy old detectors that who knows have had what done to them ?? can buy an outlaw with the one coil don't have to buy the 3 coil pack.

just got home from a little hunt with the O and 7" coil made some videos just getting them loaded up so feel free to have a watch and a giggle this stuff isn't rocket science its meant to be fun and Tesoro's are fun

I am no expert I just like going out and playing in the dirt

Cibola from last winter.
