New Tesoro model teribbly overdue !!!!

Hi Robert,
Glad to see a factory rep posting.

I just wrote a whole page full of stuff. When I proofed it before posting, I saw it was all negative and I decided to just delete it.

What would the names of the detector be? Hmmm!

They can name one the "Coronado" as he searched for the cities of gold, or was that used already?? Maybe the "Quivira" which is a sister city of gold to Cibola. Maybe use the Cibola green on the Quivira, but include a simple display that just reads a vdi number and depth, that might be cool - hows that finnfoto? Gets you thinking.

Pinzon, part owner of the nina and the pinta,

A golden umax with TID and better depth, also dont just lump everything above zinc into one number (95).

Sounds great,HHH.

Compadre with multi sound (possible 17 khz), and set between Compadre-Silver pricing would be awesome.

Product name: The Atocha (Name would fit considering name history. IMO)

OR

Compadre with multi sound & interchangeable coils, and set between Compadre-Silver pricing would be awesome.

Product name: The Cuenca (For historical purposes, and to branch off of another historical Tesoro Detector name.) <<< I might add I own the other named detector lol.

An ED-120 with 12 Khz !!

Hmmmm?

How about Tesoro having a "Name the New Detector" contest! Winner gets one of the new units. If there are multiple entries on the same name, Tesoro pick a name out of a hat or the first one to submit it. How does that sound?

Ed-209 ?

I wasn't going to post but decided to anyway.

TONE ID. I think if Tesoro could get the tone id part right, that would be a big help. None of the tone id units have been very good, tone wise. The dual tone models like the Pantera, Golden Sabre, Golden Sabre II, and the multi-tone models like the Golden uMax and the new toned Golden uMax all have the same problem - and that is there isn't enough difference in the tones. On the new toned Golden uMax, the 1st and 3rd tones are hard to separate so I've had to resort to thumbing the disc knob and flipping notch switches to separate those tones. The very thing one should NOT have to do on a tone id unit. On the old toned Golden uMax, the two middle tones are hard to separate so we had to learn tricks to help separate those tones. On the older dual tone models I had to re-learn them every time I layed them down for a few weeks and then picked them back up. For a dual tone model, look at the Bounty Hunter Tracker IV. That one got the dual tone right.

Get the tones right. Distinct tones that don't require thumbing disc knobs or flipping notch switches or putting a coin in your shoe. If Fisher, and Whites and Garretts and Minelab and Discovery, and Compass and Bounty Hunter can do tone id properly- then I know Tesoro should be able to do it, too.

GROUND BALANCE. Put manual or computer assisted ground balancing on your detectors that affect the Discrimination Mode. Not everyone lives in Florida. Why am I forced to open your units and ground balance with a screw driver every time I go to a new site. Totally Ridiculous.

Just do those two things, Tones and Ground Balancing, and add them to your current offering and you would be good to go with a new lineup. And we wouldn't give you much flack for it because it would make your detectors more useful. All you would hear from us would be "Why did you wait so long?"

Bring back the Pantera in a uMax configuration. Add more spread in the tones and use the HOT circuit. Leave everthing else the same. Presto...you got a new offering.

The Cortes has a terrific lower conductive range. Capitalize on that. Jewelry hunting is a big deal. Talk to jewelry hunters and develop feature sets for jewelry hunting that compliment that. Presto...you got a new offering.

Wow us all with a Tesoro version of the Whites TDI. You know that the discriminating PI is just around the corner. Whites is doing it. Where is the Tesoro version?

You don't have to reinvent the wheel....just make a Tesoro version of it.

Speaking as a Tesoro Fan. A very patiently waiting Tesoro Fan who is forced to go else where for his primary metal detectors. An who if the truth was known, only sticks around today because of the Cleansweep coil.

Great post Mike, On the ground balance I would like to see a choice of either fixed or manual balance on the Tejon and Vaquero. Balance knob turned counterclockwise into a clicked position for fixed, (preset), but yet have the 3 3/4 turn adjustment.
I believe some of the European models are set up this way. A frequency shift switch on the Tejon would also be a welcome addition.

So that they can still stay in the business of making the best metal detectors in the world :tesoro: Of coarse, on my part of being hopeful, it is a little selfish. It is because I like the older models and I may need service work done to them in the future. Get 'Er Done.... Tesoro.

I don't know how many times I've posted about the Tracker IV tones-putting them on ANY Tesoro. And they wouldn't have to worry about a recopy if, as Mike says they get the tones right. By that, I mean the Tracker IV fails miserably in the nickel region because the low tone is nothing more than a "scratch" tone. With a really high tone and a low smooth tone and both split at tabs it would be awesome. The thing about this setup is that you can get a tab broken signal on 1-8 pulltabs piled upon each other, then slide a dime, penny or quarter beneath the pile and get a high tone. Or stack a pile of nickels and get a low tone, but slide a dime under them and get a high tone. That's the only reason I have a Tracker IV instead of a Golden.

only thing Tesoro dont have is a multi feq machine.

i think you guys maybe asking for a bit too much here no machine does it all and if Tesoro were to build this machine just from these few posts it would be one comlicated machine! i thought the reason we like tesoros is because they are no fuss turn on and dig machines? if i am wrong then i am sorry.

me set disc where needed and dig everything i can get a lock on isnt that what we want them to do?

i am happy with mine :clapping:
