New Names, Your Choice!

Leave VIPER out. It reminds me of that CHEAP CHINESE water detector... KEN

Exactly what I was thinking when reading the choices on the first page. You saved me the time going to Big K's site to verify the name! I'd go with Cazador.

Even though I'm a Canadian i really like.................................Patriot. ( Not enough of them in Canada)

Wraith.
The hooded wraith picture attached is a good start. It will scare away the competition.

All this asking the customers is unprecedented and Awesome! Thank you for turning to us for advice.
A year ago I gave you guys hell for doing the opposite of what you are niw doing. With this new technique in researching deector design Tesoro is going to win the hearts of many of us.

Good job Tesoro.

I vote for Wraith. It's time to do away with the Spanish references already. From a marketing standpoint, it's time to drop the old hat. When I hear Lobo, Conquistador, Or Vaquero, I think old school. It's a mental thing. Go with something American! Something slightly edgy. Something cool. Again, this is from a marketing point of view. The name needs to appeal to a more broad age group. I really think some of the name choices have hurt Tesoro in the past. My whole business is based on good marketing, and the "cool" factor is the best selling point of all. Regardless of meaning, to me, names like Cazador, just sound corny. Keep it American names. Keep it edgy. Keep it Cool. Just my 2 cents.

Paladin...a good strong name with a positive literal definition.

Also Richard Boone's lead character in Have Gun, Will Travel...arguably the best TV western ever from television's golden age of westerns.

A lot of votes for Patriot, which you would expect on a US based forum inhabited by many conservative middle age to older white guys like me. But I don't think Patriot would be a good choice for Tesoro from a marketing standpoint. Especially overseas where Tesoro derives a lot of sales.

Great to see Tesoro soliciting the feedback!

I like Paladin, "Have detector, will travel" perfect name in my opinion. I like the old westerns, as you can tell by my pen name.

I know that we are suppose to pick a name from the list and I vote for Patriot but if we get to choose other names I think that Pirata has a nice ring to it. Pirata is a Spanish name for pirate.

Wow, thanks for asking!

I vote for Patriot.

Hi Nathan,,Without knowing more about the characteristics that will be incorporated into your new release like, distinguishing features,VDI'?,depth and the ergonomics etc. I would be hesitate to pick a name from your list....Names are easy to come up with, but I can from your list that you guys at Tesoro are leaning towards the Spaniard type theme again....A name that is easy to spell, easy to remember and kinda describes the attributes of your new machine is not....I'm going to throw a new name out there for your humble consideration....It's COYOTE = Coyotes shift their hunting techniques in accordance with their prey. When hunting small animals such as mice, they slowly stalk through the grass, and use their acute sense of smell to track down the prey....JJ

If it's going to use HOT technology, name it after a pepper; something like the jalapeno or maybe habanero. Hmmm... I kinda like Tesoro Habanero. Rolls off the tongue nicely.

I will go with Paladin
